Let me start off by saying I’ve always liked this place and food, however, I will not ever return. Today, I went there for dinner with another person. Our server was nice, seated us quickly and took our order for drinks and appetizers in a timely manner. I ordered the Soba soup and my friend ordered some sushi. The sushi came out approximately 20 min after we placed our order. The soup did not come out for another 15-20 min after that. My friend waited for my food to arrive, when it finally did, the server said:”Oh I’m sorry I guess I didn’t time that right”.
The bowl of soup was steaming, so I opted to wait and attempt to cool the soup down a little. After approximately 5 min I went ahead and slurped down a spoon full of broth and instantly burned my mouth. Could it be my fault for assuming the soup would be a bit cooler? Sure, but this soup was still extremely hot including everything that was in it. I tried waiting even though all the ingredients got soggy and I’ve lost my appetite at this point, but even after another 10 min it was still way too hot to eat.
I finally gave up and asked the waiter if its okay to take the soup off my ticket after explaining the whole situation. She agreed and told the manager(possibly owner). This is where things became unacceptable. The manager/owner was very unhappy and basically got in my face. She was very derogatory towards me, asking me if I’ve never had soup in my life, that soba is supposed to be this hot, and this isn’t McDonalds where food is cold. Then she waved her hand, walked away and said I’ll take it off but don’t order soup again. I didn’t want to start arguing, I didn’t want this to escalate as there were other guests and she’s been sitting at a table drinking.
I’ve lived in Japan for almost 4 years and had all different kinds of soup at least 5 times a week. It was always hot, but never hot to the point to cause injuries. I always like to support local business’ , but due to the manager/owners actions, I will never return to this establishment nor recommend...
Read moreThe food was delicious, so compliments to the kitchen!! The service was awful! Waited 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken, another 10-15 minutes for an extra plate and chopsticks we asked for, our appitizer came out after our entrée because she forgot to place the order for it and then waited 20 minutes before she even came by to get our check! We were already done eating, drinks were gone, we were just waiting, so was another couple. The place is not that big, nor was it busy when we got there, and she would disappear into the back for long periods of time along with the other young lady who was serving tonight. There were NO servers anywhere on the restaurant floor. I had to ask the sushi chef if I could pay my check at the bar and THEN she showed up. I would recommend getting your food to-go because it is delicious, but the service SUCKS. Food wise, best in Warrensburg. Service wise, avoid...
Read moreFirst and Foremost our server, Stormy, was amazing. She was the only person working the entire dinning room. She was seating people, waiting tables and taking money. She ran her tail off. However thumbs down to the owners for putting her in that position. The food was less than mediocre at best. Actually no let’s be honest, it was bad. No one liked their food. Nothing tasted seasoned at all. We eat Oriental food all the time at many different locations. And that is not what this was. Even the fried rice, the simplest of things, was not good. The prices were absolutely outrageous. We tipped Stormy watched was worth because she was earned it. But the owners of that restaurant need to take a long hard look at their staffing, menu,...
