Let me build a story first…my husband and I are from Kentucky. My husbands niece and mom are from Michigan. We decided to meet in the middle in Ohio. This was a birthday surprise and we knew she enjoyed painting. We had no idea what to do so we just googled, “things to do in Ohio”. Painting with a twist came up. Upon leaving, 15 mins into their drive, the Michigan group blew a tire. So we were already onto a late start. Upon arriving, the Michigan group learned their hotel had somehow been canceled and now had no room in a booked full (it’s Fourth of July weekend) hotel. The frustration just keeps growing. We decided to just go to the paint class and hope for a bit of good luck. Our class started at 7pm and we received all the emails that said arrive 30 mins prior. We arrived at 655pm. We walked in the door and was immediately greeted with smiles and “welcomes” and “glad you could make it” and “let’s get you started”. Not one ounce of annoyance, sarcasm, or anything. Just genuine “thanks for coming” even though we were clearly the last group to arrive. Enter Megan. My mother-in-law barely made it through the door before her and Megan became immediate best friends. Megan was so helpful. So friendly. So welcoming. So knowledgeable. And so, just, great. I don’t even think she was the actual “leader” of the class but there were three girls total to walk around helping everyone. This class was a paint pour and the four of us had never done it. (Side note, if you’ve never tried it, do it. It’s incredibly easy, and so much fun) They took the time to help us, explain everything, and let us rock our creative souls lol. Megan took the time to learn all about us. She learned that my mother-in-law lost her husband last year and one of the last things they did together was a painting class, hence choosing this activity. She also learned of all the troubles to get there. As well as, it’s my mother in laws birthday. She made sure my mother-in-law had the very best time. She sat and helped her with her paintings. She coached her along the way. She had the group sing to her. She brought out little “birthday” presents for her. She literally made it the ENTIRE experience AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL. Last piece, once learning where we were from (both hours away from the studio and we had just done a paint pour) she without hesitation took our addresses and offered to mail our paintings to us so they had ample time to dry. At the end, she offered a business card so we could call in case our packages ran into any trouble like we did trying to get there. I wanted to ask her for a manager name so that she received proper recognition, only to find she is the manager. And she has taken the time to build a studio on absolutely fantastic values. It was so clean inside, so organized, all of the employees were so helpful, and guided with any questions. The restrooms were clean. And above all else, they treated every single customer as if they were all best friends, ready to help each other, and literally paint their best pictures. We had the best time. Thank you, painting with a twist, Dayton Oh,...

Read moreI had great time here on Friday 12/16(besides being my own worst critic). Jesse was a great instructor, I loved her bubbly personality. I did feel slightly overstimulated due to all the sounds going on- instructor on a microphone, Christmas music (that was a little too loud), and other conversations going on. (But again, that was solely a me issue- so can't really hold it against the ladies running the place that night.) The girl that checked me in (I think Megan is her name?) was pleasant. Also, the lady that was walking around helping the crowd out and providing more paint or removing paper towels that were piling up was great (I believe it was Delaney or Laney?- I suck at remembering most names now). I have to say I wasn't impressed with my own painting when leaving that night. But I think it was due to being extremely tired and overstimulated from all the sound... because looking at it now- it doesn't look too shabby! I also keep forgetting that I am a perfectionist and have never painted like this before....
Overall, the experience was definitely something different and the ladies there...
