UPDATE: I filled out a survey about my experience- the manager contacted me and offered a smoothie if I would try this location again-- I did try again-- this time much later and on a different day of the week-- I got excellent customer service this time-- karissa was the gal at the register and she greeted me right away and did not act as if she had something better to do than serve me-- I was very pleased with her service and the place seemed to be running much more smoothly this time, despite there being more customers -- karissa was at the register and another person was making the smoothies- such a better experience this time-- I also used the bathroom this time and found it to be clean and well stocked-- while this experience was excellent I am not going to change my rating until I go again on a Saturday and see if the distracted unfriendly girl has pulled it together or they have gotten rid of her--Saturday and Sunday mornings are when I would usually would go to this location-- I have opted to not go most of the time because of the poor service I receive from her(everytime) -- I will change my rating when I experience good customer service on a Saturday morning at this location ORIGINAL POST: I usually go to the tropical smoothie in huber- I have never had a negative experience at that location-- At the tropical smoothie on miamisburg centerville- I gave the girl a buy one get one 50% off coupon- she gave me only one dollar off-- I did not think they were busy yet I had to wait for at least a minute before my order was taken-a lady from the back asked if I had been taken care of-- there were two girls working the front - i told the girl what my coupon was for and showed it to her yet she failed to put it in correctly-- I do not remember if she told me the price before running my card-- when she handed me my order she did not thank me or say have a nice day- I said thank you and did not get a reply back -- I go to the huber location almost every day-- I would like to go to this south location when I am south but if I can't get good customer service why would I give...
Read moreThis was a great place until recently. I hate to post anything negative, but I was treated so poorly that it needs to be out there.
The HIGHLIGHTS: My coupon (from the bottom of a previous receipt) was not accepted, even though they’ve been accepting the same kind of coupon for YEARS (no expiration printed on it); the owner accused me of not giving the coupon to the cashier each time (when even she herself has rang me out and watched me hand her the coupon); she also accused me of bringing a coupon from somewhere else (“This could be from Shell for all I know!”); the owner, who treated me like I was part of the family before, suddenly treated me like I didn’t matter and she did not care. I got the “F—- OFF!” look from her. I’m a very bright and friendly person. This was uncalled for.
The story: I’ve used coupons that print at the bottom of the receipt, always gave them to the cashier. They do not have an expiration date printed on them or anywhere on the receipt. They do not say they need to be attached to the rest of the receipt or used within a certain timeframe. However, these are reasons the owner said she would not accept my coupon. “We won’t be accepting this,” she said. No kindness in her voice. She accused me of bringing the same coupon with me and never giving it to the cashier, as well as using a coupon from the nearby Shell station. Which is random because I don’t go there.
Prior to this, she was kind, sometimes warm. I understand owning a business and I understand working long hours, so I appreciated her acting in the past like she would take care of her good customers. I came at least twice a week. I spent close to $40/week at her store. It takes a lot to upset me, but now im done. Just want this to be out there so hopefully she will treat people better. There was no talking to her,...
Read moreThis location has deteriorated drastically since the change in ownership, and it’s nothing short of appalling. I urge anyone considering stopping here to think twice—your time, money, and health are worth more. The smoothies are consistently watered down, lacking flavor, and often taste as if they’ve been made with spoiled or overripe fruit. Even more concerning are the repeated violations of basic hygiene practices. On several occasions, I’ve had to request that the person preparing my food wear gloves—a request that should never be necessary in any food establishment. I’ve personally witnessed an employee return from outside, walk straight to the prep area, and begin handling food without washing their hands or putting gloves on. That is completely unacceptable and in violation of food safety standards. To make matters worse, I’ve seen staff members eating fruit behind the counter while preparing orders. This is not just unsanitary—it’s downright negligent. During my most recent visit (6/27), I ordered a banana peanut butter flatbread and received it stuffed with cheese and lettuce. That isn’t a simple mistake—that’s a complete disregard for quality control. And the spoiled apple I received alongside it had to be thrown away immediately. I will not be returning, and I strongly advise others to avoid this location entirely. If you value cleanliness, food safety, and competent service, you’ll find far better standards at the Kettering location across from Target. That store understands how to handle food properly—something this location...
