There's not a Five Guys close to where we live or work, so when we saw this one as we were driving by, just after lunch time, we decided to double back and stop in. First, the burgers are delicious, just as everyone says. But, this being our first time, there's not a lot of info on the menu board. Second, the grill hood, HVAC, and music all made it difficult to hear. The board said burger and little burger. That was the only size reference. I asked the guy if the "little burger" was a slider. He rolled his eyes and said something I could not hear. I excused myself, saying I didn't hear what he had said. Again, I got the eye roll, saw his lips move, and picked up on his body language that made it clear I was annoying him. I'm not sure why he was so annoyed, there was no one else in line to order. We ordered two cheeseburgers, one large fry, and two drinks. Instead of telling me how much I owed, he simply pointed to the screen. I paid and then in a clear, easily heard voice, he told the cook line, " order in" and handed us our cups. We picked a table and got our drinks. When they called our order, I was surprised to get our lunch in a bag. Maybe all orders are served in bags, again it was my first visit. I tried to fill a ramekin with ketchup, but the dispenser was empty. A young lady was standing by the grill, with her back to me. I excused myself again and informed her the dispenser was empty. Her response was, "Sorry". She didn't move to fill it, she didn't tell anyone else about it, she just turned her back to me and went on messing with her phone. Since the "order taker" refused to give us any information, we learned that the regular cheeseburgers are really double cheeseburgers. This meant we had way too much food. I wasn't able to finish mine and my wife barely ate half of hers. Really wish the guy at the register had shared that tid bit. Without any ketchup, we didn't put a very big dent in the fries either. They never refilled it while we were there. Lastly, as my wife was headed down the hall to the bathroom, the girl that did nothing about the ketchup, came rushing out an employee only door, shot past her, and into the ladies bathroom, locking the door. So, we left. As I said, the burgers were good, but not worth being treated like that. Then there's the price. $30+ for lunch for two? Granted, it would have been less had we known what Little Burger meant, but that goes back to the way we were treated. We won't be returning. The burgers at both Red Robin and Wahlburgers are just as good and the employees are at all rude. I suggest the company should worry less about who is growing the potatoes and more about who's...
Read moreMy favorite hamburger place! They even have excellent fries (and they give you a lot!)
I don't eat much red meat but when I crave a burger, they are perfect! I can be particular about my food and they've never messed anything up!
Update Feb 2022: I am sad to say that the prices have become ridiculously high. Today I got a cheeseburger and regular size fries (no drink) and my total was over $15. This is more than most sit-down restaurants charge for a burger platter. The food is still good but the new, higher prices (which have been raised TWICE lately) will stop me from visiting as much.
UPDATE: May 6th, 2022 Unbelievably, they have raised prices AGAIN. Now my cheeseburger and regular fries, no drink, is $17. Again, no notice about the increase. I'm not surprised that there doesn't seem to be many customers there any time I go. I guess they're trying to get rid of all their customers. Although they still have excellent food, I'm now removing one of their stars. A business that raises prices every few months (for a total increase of 1/3 of the original price) does not care about...
Read moreI really like FIVE GUYS, and this particular one is my favorite for several reasons: 1) it is the largest one in the area, with no shortage of tables, and 2) the people working there are very nice. It (along with the one in the UD district south of downtown Dayton) are the cleanest and well-run places (I have been to about six 5Gs) and this one is only slightly better than the UD one because of my 2 reasons. Downside: The food is fattening, so go at your own (health) risk.----------------------------- btw "Reality Check" - I'm not fake. I am also unsure why you went to Five Guys. Really. You don't sound all that bright. Go enjoy McDonalds, you hack. All you had to do is look at the prices on the menu and what others were eating at the tables. Oh, and you might have wanted to pay attention to the kitchen that EVERYONE CAN SEE! You were an uninformed patron and you ignorance shows in your language. All these FGB are set up identically. All I can tell you is that you should really use your mental capacities BEFORE ordering. You made the choice and then you act...
