I was driving by Sam's Club in Centerville, OH and was looking for a place to eat. I saw the Tokyo Grill's sign for an all you can eat buffet and hibachi grill and remembered my time in Japan and the great food I enjoyed there! I went inside and was seated quickly. I made a mistake by not asking how this buffet worked right away. When I did I asked for a waitress that spoke English she told me how to proceed. I had been given a metal bowl and a small piece of paper that you need to checkmark any of the ingredients like different rices and pastas that can be added to whatever I chose from the main bar like fresh broccoli, white and red onions, garlic, small corn cobbs, mushrooms and many other items to include raw meats like shrimp, steak chunks, pork, scallops, salmon and chicken. (See attached photos) After you select those items and put them in your metal bowl you set it on the end of the counter where indicated to be cooked on the hibachi grill and then brought to your table.
Before you sit back down you can select from the Hot bar items like tempura shrimp, tempura sweet potato treats, steak fries, mozzarella sticks, and other items. There are different sauces available too.
I can't forget their salad and sushi bars. So many different varieties are available on both these bars as well. I think my pictures will give a better idea for people. Don't worry about dessert as they have ice cream in plastic containers and other items on the end of the salad bar.
I ate dinner and it was great!!! It is expensive in my opinion as I paid over $25.00 for the buffet and water. They do have several types of beverages including I believe Pepsi products. There is a parking area shared with other businesses nearby.
I will definitely go back as I love Asian grill foods especially! I also took a picture of my second bowl from the grill. Hope it shows you a sample of what is available as it makes your mouth water like mine is even...
Read moreWent for dinner tonight. The host sat us down and there were no menus or anything. The host asked if we had been there before and we all 6 said no. I asked the host whom I thought was the waitress since she was taking drink orders if my daughter who is 4 could split my food with me and she said yes. Well we get our bill and they charged me for a child's meal. I then asked the waitress who is a different lady why I was charged when the one girl told me I could share. The lady then argued with me about my child eating... she ate two pieces of chicken off my plate that I made...I never took her up to get her food. The waitress goes well what lady told you and I pointed to the lady at the front and she goes oh she's a host she don't know you should of asked a waitress and she's a new host I said well she said it. She the gets the host and brings her over and the host then goes oh I thought you meant to split water... I said really?! I asked if she could eat off my plate and you said yes... the waitress then goes if we take it off your bill she has to pay for it. I then said why should she have to pay for it if you didn't train her correctly. She they said I will talk to my manager. We NEVER seen a manager they waitress came back and said they would take care of it since her manager said. I NEVER write reviews but this really irritates me to be called a liar and to have someone argue back at me when I did no wrong. The food was okay... the chicken was rubbery and the steak was hard to chew. I would definitely not recommend based on the service alone... then the test of the food. I could go to Sake or Mongolian Grill and get way better...
Read moreI wanted to like this place so much but I just can’t. The idea behind was the draw - sushi buffet - for sushi lovers, who wouldn’t go for that? And a hibachi grill included in the buffet? Sign me up!! But unfortunately the experience was a let down.
First and foremost, the fish at the hibachi grill all tasted “fishy”. That means it’s definitely past its prime.
The sushi rolls seemed dried out somehow. Almost like the rice wasn’t maybe fully cooked? Not sure what went on there but nearly all of the sushi rolls o tried has a touch of “off-ness” about them. The desserts were hit and miss. All the cake-type of desserts were dry. The puddings were… just okay.
As with most things these days, it comes down to price and quality. First, I couldn’t find signage anywhere which said how much the buffet was. Maybe it’s there somewhere but I sure missed it. I had heard it was around $20-25/person so that was what I was planning for. For five of us, the bill was $125, but we had one underage member with us and I thought they got a discount. Don’t know what that discount is, though. Regardless, $25/person was not indicative of the quality of our meal. Their quality game needs to be drastically improved to match a $25/person price point.
A few of us felt a but nauseous once we were back at home.
All that to say, love the idea but they failed in execution and we won’t be returning. It’s a shame - we were celebrating something that night and took the risk on trying a new spot. It failed on all levels which is a lesson to us: if you’re celebrating a milestone event, stick with...
