Had my first Spavia experience yesterday and it was wonderful. While I have experienced targeted medical massage for many years, I had not taken the time to indulge in a therapeutic massage. All those years I used massage as an element to help recover and improve my performance and I never thought about the benefits of a whole body massage. I woke up today feeling like I bought a new body yesterday. Going forward I will continue to use medical massage for those elements of performance and recovery so I can be the best daily health athlete I can, BUT I will also regularly utilize therapeutic massage for better self-care so that I can best enjoy my times of rest and relaxation. Thank you, I will definitely return.
Staff: Thank you to Shannon, for working so well with my body and talking me through my treatment. After my session, Shannon suggested activities I can do to help work on some areas that she noticed during my massage. She also discussed how I can best use therapeutic massage going forward. Amanda, the manager, helped me to explore the products I was interested in at check-out and took the time to discuss my options for return visits.
Facilities: The entrance is easy to access. The lobby is bright and has a nice variety of products and items for purchase. Once inside the doors the staff speak quietly and the lights are lowered in the hallways outside the rooms. The lighting resembles the soft glow of a fire. The changing area is well lit but also quiet and relaxing. They offer a shower, separate changing area, and lockers for your belongings.
Location: Bridge Park, in Dublin, is convenient and easy to access from 270/Sawmill Rd/161. There is some street parking, which can be busy because of popularity of the area and the many business, but there is ample parking in the garages just one building away.
Process: Schedule your appointment online or by calling. As a new client, you will be emailed a survey to fill out before your session. When you arrive you will be given a brief questionnaire to help your therapist better understand what you expect from your session that day depending on whether you are seeking relaxation or pain relief. You are led to an intimate waiting space where you can have tea and warm neck wrap. You receive a robe, sandals, and a locker to store your belongings. You can wait here in comfortable chairs for your therapist. The therapist will lead you to your room where pleasant sounds of your choosing will already be playing. The therapist will ask you if you have questions or requests before you begin. Throughout my treatment, my therapist checked on my comfort and gently guided me through the session. Afterwards, I was asked if I had questions and the therapist offered me suggestions. Despite several other clients using the changing facilities at the same time as me, I did not feel as though I...
Read moreI was serviced at this location 5/26/21. Upon checking in the owner, Mary, 1st wanted to argue that my Boyfriend didn't sign the waiver. I assured her I PERSONALLY completed the form myself & submitted it; common sense would've said let me just check before going back & forth with a customer. She found that she was indeed wrong & apologized.
Next at check-out Mary, the owner, made a mistake and charged my boyfriend card TWICE. She fixed the error & gave us receipts (that she personally signed as proof) to reflect the error was rectified. However, with us standing right there, wrapping up, she was scolding the employee for apparently setting up the booking portfolio incorrectly, which is what she was blaming the billing error on. She needs to be taught professionalism because that conversation, as a customer, was not one that I should not have witnessed.
Fast forward to 6/4/21; my card was charged $235.44. I had only visited this place 5/26/2021 & my card was only provided to reserve the reservation. My boyfriend paid for the service the day of. So When I called they were already forcing the narrative that the charge would fall off & it's just a pending authorization. I LITERALLY kept saying repeatedly this is a posted transaction. It was not until I offered to send proof via my bank account the call wrapped up. When I sent the proof it was very apparent the owner Mary refused to review the proof that was sent to her; which she did review because she said my card wasn't charged; but stopped responding when I made the very valid point of HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THE CHARGE ON MY ACCT FROM YOUR ESTABLISHMENT? I sent the details from my bank account 2 times via email. We are now @ 6/13/21 & Mary has since stopped responding. Good customer service would be LISTENING TO YOUR CUSTOMER and correcting the error. But instead she told me in capital letters on an email that my card was NOT charged then never sent a follow up response on how she was correcting the error when CLEARLY she's incorrect.
I'm still out my $235.44 with no resolution or response... Seriously everything is at our finger tips today; how hard is it to log into your account & verify a transaction that's posted incorrectly? & WHO BETTER to fix an error (with provided proof of the error) than the Owner of the business? She doesn't care! This place lacks professionalism & doesn't value...
Read moreI consider myself a sort of spa-monger. I enjoy spa treatments of all kinds, massage, facials, body wraps & scrubs, waving ... etc .... So, after being gifted a card for Christmas, I was excited to try a new experience in the Dublin area. I came to the spa quite early because I had lunch plans in the area and knew I could rest in the relaxation room. The ladies restroom was well equipped and my items were safe and secure in the lockers. I took a quick shower (disappointed to find out the hand held did not work) but cozied up in a robe and grabbed a neck warmer - nice touch - and hot tea while I waited. My therapist was about 10-15 mins late (not a huge deal - because I was relaxed anyway) but ..... jI was so surprised when she walked me to a room and explained we would start there and then move. Once I was settled in to room #1 - oddly, on a plastic sheet - she began my treatment. I had requested a sugar scrub - a service I am very familiar with - she did a fine job, nothing to remember, but, just fine. She did not spend time on hands or feet - both very dry at this time of year. She then wiped me down - hot towels - which I appreciated - but for the life of me I can not understand why I didn't have an opportunity to rinse off in a warm shower before starting a "relaxation massage". The only explanation I can claim is that the shower space was used as a storage area for equipment, and not available for it's actual use. Maybe I should have asked if I could walk back up to the ladies restroom and shower again - since we were moving rooms anyway - but, again, I find it strange that we had to move rooms. It was not very relaxing to be massaged with residual sugar grains on my skin. The hot oil scalp massage was nice too, but when I had scheduled that add on I specifically asked about being about to wash my hair before I left, and the therapist said it was best to leave the oils in my hair. Needless to say - I came right home, and showered off the oils and sugars. I did purchase a candle - and have been enjoying it. This experience will not deter me from returning, I will just be more cautious about what I am scheduling and what Spavia considers best...
