Fun time, but the overall value comes up a bit short. Cost prohibitive for families or large groups.. Experience just doesn't match the price. We played the Squid Game VR with family and a friend (2 other adults, 3-kids ages 13, 11 and 7). It was really fun, not scary or anything. Check-in was slow and took ~40minutes even though only 2 other people were there besides our group. We also prepaid $55 for the Japan snack box which they didn't even bring out until we were starting the game. They just placed in the cubby with our personal belongings, so we just ate it after we left. They generate a short video highlight reel of your gameplay which is a GREAT idea. They show it on a tv in the lobby immediately following the game and also, text a link to view online. Unfortunately nearly half of our video didn't upload avatars to overlay gameplay, so ~half of our video is just an empty game room/space, so that was a real bummer. I asked the employee who led our experience why the video didn't have any avatars in much of the reel, and he just said, "I don't know what happened". Overall, a really fun time playing the game, but they missed the mark on the customer service experience outside of the game.
Pros: Fun, immersive, gameplay experience, Cool technology, Cons: Expensive, Long/slow check‐in, Expensive carryout snack boxes, Short actual gameplay time, Video...
Read moreBooked a birthday party for 6 kids. Staff for gaming was great. I would not do the package. For $55 I got elite box, which was a joke. Not enough for 6 boys to share and probably only about $20 worth of items… plus the water bottles were $4 each. Next time I would just book the experience without the package extras. When I brought up to the manager she just rolled her eyes at me and defiantly said the package came with 18 items… some of the items were one piece of candy. I tried to give her feedback o. Why I felt it was misrepresented, but she didn’t want to hear it. The game staff was way more professional than the manager I dealt with.
Alex, the GM called to explain things and I feel much better increasing my stars. He went above and beyond to call after hours to just explain things to me. I booked through the corporate site which didn’t really give me the breakdown. I was not aware that the package discounts the gaming and the box and waters are then just included. The billing made it seem much different which is what put me off about the experience. A simple explanation from Alex went a long way to make me feel better about...
Read moreMy husband and I had an incredible time at Sandbox VR in Columbus! As first-timers, we were a bit nervous, but Daria was so patient and helpful in guiding us through everything. She made sure we were comfortable and ready for the adventure. We decided to try Deadwood Phobia, and it was absolutely thrilling! From the moment we stepped into the VR world, we were completely immersed, and it honestly felt like we were right in the middle of the action. The suspense and excitement were intense, and every twist and turn had us on the edge of our seats. The experience was unlike anything we've done before, and we’ll definitely be coming back for more!
Another highlight was the dance video—where we got to move like zombies! It was hilarious and so much fun to see ourselves in action while dancing. The best part is that we got to keep a digital remembrance of the experience, so we’ll always have those memories to look back on. Huge thanks to Daria for making our first time so smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend Sandbox VR for anyone looking for an...
