I don't really ever write reviews but some how I felt compelled. I'll try to split this into sections about the experience, from location, food, and overall presentation.
Location/Building:
This place is located in Bridge Street in Dublin. Somehow, mind bogglingly even, they have managed to take a large corner slot and done absolutely nothing with it. The place is cramped with no ample seating and when I went there almost everyone was lounging and not eating during lunch. The seats that were available were knee height (?). Overall it was cramped and hard to move through especially when carrying food and a drink. What is crazy is you can walk 100 feet to Fukuryu and see how they have somehow took less space and made it more manageable for seating and feeding people.
Food:
Decent? Worth the price? I don't know. Overall, it needs some salt to really bring out the flavors. I had a bowl with kimchi cauliflower rice, shrimp, and a few sides the only notable one being the miso charred cabbage. The rice was somehow flavorless, which makes little sense given the presence of kimchi in it? There was no spice. I don't think anyone at the restaurant has had kimchi before. I think the miso charred cabbage was tasty by accident given the other ingredients.
The portion size was small, much less than what is presented on their website.
Was the food bad? Not by any means. But for the price and flavor there are comparable options like Bibibop for cheaper.
Presentation:
This might be the most pretentious restaurant I've ever eaten out. It reminds me of the Keanu Reeves scene from Always Be My Maybe. The restaurant is so far up itself trying to chase every health buzz word.
Bone broth? Anti-GMO? Non-toxin? You name a latest health craze they got it.
I don't really buy into any of this stuff, especially when there is little to no peer reviewed research supporting any of the claims. Its hard to believe the food is healthy when there is no evidence to support it. I guess if I want to think it is it could be.
I think it is worth a shot just to say you tried it. For your time and money there are better places...
Read moreThe food is tasty but way overpriced. Their menu is similar to Chipotle's in that you can make your bowl based on different (and better) choices but they charge for every add-on that isn't already included which VERY QUICKLY adds up. They also have a disclaimer in their main entrance that they avoid GMOs but they might be thinking of pesticides, not GMOs...or they might be trying to capitalize on the boojie health train, who knows. Their food is good, but their health claims are just bogus.
We went there for lunch and we noticed you order through a tablet, just like Panera. However, their tablet UI is a mess; it's simply not easy to use. We ordered two bowls, a chicken/hummus bowl, and a vegan bowl and it ended up being over $30, too expensive for the amount of food and the taste. The food leans on the drier side and is really spicy (as in spice not as in hot), which was unfortunate...we usually don't have leftovers but we just couldn't finish either plate. The naan is fantastic though.
But before coming here, know that this is a restaurant in a set of chains that is highly involved in a public display of political and religious beliefs and ideologies, particularly on their social media, and they share views that may not properly align with the friendliness and open-mindedness of Columbus. Even after being corrected on their misinformation, they double down in their comment sections or just disable the comments. Whoever handles their PR doesn't know how to PR. Some of their places have been known for blatant discrimination against target demographics. If you are the type of person who doesn't mind a lack of political self-awareness, feels bold enough, has extra cash, and is looking for okayish food,...
Read moreI used to love this place! I went for the first time right after they opened on bridge park and was so pleased to find a healthy restaurant that tasted good! My husband and I even brought my mom and sister here because we knew they would love it as well. They had these delicious keto friendly pitas that we would stop in specifically for. Everything was great until over time more and more visits, things started changing. They got rid of the Keto friendly low carb pitas and now they just have chips which contain gluten. They started charging extra for items there that weren’t extra before. You only offer three bases in the restaurant, kale salad, rice(which I can’t eat being grain free) and kimchi cauliflower rice. They got rid of the miracle noodles off the menu yet I never saw them in the restaurant and past couple times I’ve been in there they haven’t carried cucumber noodles. So you now limit me to two bases per bowl (Which they didn’t before). But now my options are even more limited and I have to pay 1.00 extra for kimchi cauliflower rice. You started charging Extra for the guacamole. 1.50 for a Very small scoop. Last visit they were out of all dairy free milks so you couldn’t get a smoothie or latte. All they had was chocolate milk. Not even worth it. Customer service leaves very little to be desired. It’s become such a disappointment. Why change whats not broken? And we love the food too so its...
