We went to Fado's during the St. Patrick's Day event with my wife and we were told at the door that there was a $20 cover charge. We were planning on leaving and going somewhere else, when the entry person pointed at a large sign behind them that said "$20 gift card" and he said that every entry got a $20 gift card so we were basically just getting our money back. We asked him a few more questions and it sounded good, so we went in and paid. It wasn't until after we paid that we were handed a couple of $20 off $40 coupon (expiration date, has to be dine in, no alcohol, etc...). It was too late to do anything and we didn't want to make a fuss about it so we went inside and had a great time, although we felt we had been tricked and would have left if we had known the truth.
I called a couple days later on 3/18 and talked to the manager, Christian, and told him I felt like I wasn't told the truth and asked if I could get an actual gift card. He was very nice and helpful and said he could look into it for me but that not to worry, they just wanted us to come back and that we could use this as a gift card and wouldn't have to worry about any particular amount, we could use two together, there was no expiration date, and it could be take-out. I thanked him and told him not to worry about swapping them out for gift cards.
We had planned to come back this weekend (we have 3 kids and can't get out often) and I called a manager again to clarify before going and this time talked to Kason, the assistant general manager who was very direct and rude and told me that I was bothering him because he was in the brunch rush and that I could not use these as gift cards and that they were just $20 off $40 cards. He told me Christian still works there but was wrong and he was not going to honor what I was told. He also interrupted me multiple times and when I asked him to let me explain the situation, he pointedly told me he was going to interrupt me. I very much enjoy Fado's and have been a frequent customer over the years and was very disappointed in the interaction and the customer service.
Update The owner, Ian, reached out to me and apologized for what happened and was very sincere and apologetic for the situation and said they would fully honor the cards as gift cards and that he wanted to make it right. I am amending the stars because of his...

We went for lunch on Sunday with our kids. A good pub should be accommodating to families on a Sunday afternoon and Fado certainly was.
Menu: No kids menu but the server worked with us to make the pub burger 'kid's style'. Good selection of appetizers and salads. Overall, a little pricey but it is expected given the location.
Food: Wife had the beef stew- she was disappointed, thought it would be thicker and heartier. Needed some seasoning. I had the pub burger. It was not cooked as ordered (I wanted med rare-to medium) and received well-done no pink at all. The server moved quickly to get me a replacement burger. I was a little surprised the server brought out just a burger and not some fresh fries but that's okay. The second burger had some pink and the moment I cut the burger juice went flying off (yes- that's what a burger should be). The burger made properly was delicious, great texture with none of the extra condiments on it. It was a good piece of meat which is what I want in a pub burger.
Not to sound preachy, but I have experienced this problem at many places around town. I would hope management would have chefs experience the difference in taste and texture so they can address the cooking process so that customers receive what they desire.
I think with all the condiments and flavors like Fado's whiskey bacon marmalade people put on their burger they are less-likely to return the burger for flavor. But many people want their pub burger to have a juicy meat flavor.
We also had the Steak Frites. It was nicely presented Ribeye. Decent flavor but certainly the compound butter on-top helped.
Overall, we found the food to be a little above- average. The drink menu was vast. The service was good. Ambiance was nice. I would return but as a drinker looking for apps probably not with the family which I think is their...
Read moreI was here with my girlfriends on St. Patrick’s Day weekend and we were having a blast until a group threatened to physically assault my friend. I was in the bathroom and someone tried to sit in my seat and my friend let the person know someone was sitting there. The woman proceeded to announce she was going to beat up my friend and proceeded to stare at her to intimidate her. We told the bartenders with other witnesses to back us up and they said they would get security involved. The same woman somehow made her way back over to our area and grabbed my friend and doubled down on her threat again saying she “would handle her and follow through”. We alerted security yet again, only to be told that they have a security guard specifically monitoring the woman and her group. Despite multiple witnesses speaking up, the security at Fado said they were not removing the group who threatened us and were instead going to monitor them. Not feeling safe, we closed out our tabs and asked security to escort us out. The security escorted us out but when we arrived outside he proceeded to argue with us when he asked us what happened. We were confused as to why the group was not asked to leave after grabbing and threatening physical harm to my friend. I realize that the security was only going off one side of the story but there were multiple witnesses who spoke up and vouched for our encounter and given this overwhelming confirmation we were astonished that the aggressors were not asked to leave. Therefore this left us having to leave in order to prioritize our own safety since the Fado...
