Freedom Plaza — Attraction in Washington

I visited Freedom Plaza for a special event — the unveiling of the 250th anniversary commemorative stamp in partnership with the USPS, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Marine Corps. The stamp ceremony was a powerful tribute to our military's legacy and history. The location itself was fitting — right in the heart of D.C. with iconic views of the Capitol and surrounding landmarks. One of my favorite places in downtown DC, Freedom Plaza is right across from the Wilson Building, which is the seat of our local DC government. The site of festivals, celebrations, concerts, demonstrations of free speech, and outdoor activities, the special part of this plaza is the ground. It’s laid out with a map of the area of downtown DC from the Capitol - which is in plain sight to the east - to the White House. It’s also inlaid with amazing quotes.
