It has taken me more than a year to write this review. Most would have simply forgotten and kept it moving. But it has taken me this long to decompress from the wedding, and how good I looked thanks to Hall and Madden. At any rate, I ended up at this location by mistake. Somehow, I thought I could go to Hall and Madden to rent a tuxedo for my wedding, so my father-in-law and I showed up to do just that. We met with Roger who is one of the best people you’ll ever meet. Very professional and knowledgeable. I had planned to do something else and really didn’t want to own a tuxedo because I’m a get dirty kinda guy and I’m a cheapo. However, the wedding date was closing in and I had to do something, so I said what the hey. It did come to me that I probably shouldn’t try to cut costs on one of the most important days of my life and that the event does deserve the best I could do. Now comes Roger, the person to help me achieve the look I wanted and would not land me in hot water with my new wife. A truly one of a kind look all the way down to the buttons. Roger was patient and listened carefully to the details I wanted and patiently went over countless options that fit my description. They have an extensive number of textiles and materials, and they even have a significant number of casual options, all available to be custom tailored to your liking. I had no idea how much tailor fit would make a difference in the look, but it is the only way to go. Hall and Madden is the only way to go when you want the absolute best custom look. Roger brilliantly measured my oddly shaped body and my suit didn’t require a single adjustment upon delivery, which was perfect despite a tight deadline. I danced for hours I this suit and everything stayed in place and looked wonderful still at the end of the day. The entire experience with Hall and Madden was perfect thanks to Roger. I am not even sure where to begin with this experience...being a female and searching for a tux for my wedding was a struggle from the beginning. I am a short athletic built female so I will always need to have custom made suits. I went to four other stores before making the ridiculous drive to DC and I couldn't have been happier with the decision to have my tux made with Hall Madden. Roger is by far one of the most knowledgeable and professional individuals I've ever met in my life. On my first visit he coordinated with my wife to help surprise me with a visit from my mother out of state to attend my consultation.

My second visit consisted of me being measured and choosing every detail of my tux all the way down to the buttons on my sleeves. During my second and third appointments he kept in contact with me helping me to choose the best shoe that would coordinate with my tux.

Once my tux arrived in just 4 short weeks, we only had minor adjustments to make, because Roger got pretty darn close in my measurements. It took about 2 weeks for the final adjustments to be completed but during that time Roger was not pleased with the adjustments of my vest and he had a completely new vest made, shipped and delivered before my final fitting!

On my wedding day I couldn't believe how it all came together! My wife and I had no idea what the other would look like but with the help of our family and Roger we coordinated so well that everyone thought we had purchased our tux and dress together!

Roger will go above and beyond to ensure that you are not settling for anything when you walk into that store. He will give you ALL of the options and an array of price ranges, fabrics, colors, you name it! He will give you his honest professional opinion and ensure that you're completely happy with the outcome of your product. I will absolutely be working with him on more items to add to my wardrobe. Excellent customer service and beautiful suits! I've been a customer of Hall Madden for a few years....when the company used to be called Proper Suits. Hall Madden is a MTM (made-to-measure) suit and shirting company that provides an excellent suits at very competitive price. I have ordered at least five suits and one sport jacket from them and I've been happy with all of them. Prior to Hall Madden I had my MTM suits from Brooks Brothers in Tysons Corner but they always had several details wrong and had to have multiple fittings to get them right, whereas Hall Madden fits almost perfectly the first time I try them on. Claire Butler is the Hall Madden's representative and fitter at the DC store who provided me an excellent service both times I was visiting the store. She is attentive and don't rush you to make a decision or push higher priced fabric on you. I spent close to an hour with Claire on my wedding suit consultation and I was the only person in the shop....no overbooking like some places. While Hall Madden is not the cheapest--if you want cheap try Indochino--they deliver one of the best quality for the price. One disclosure is that they do make their suits in China like most MTM businesses and the usual turn around time for an order is about...
