Carolina Coffee House — Restaurant in Waynesville

When you are there in person, the people are very pleasant. They serve decent coffee and teas. (Not outstanding, but I wanted to support a local business.) They don't always know how to make the drinks, and when you have an issue with it (like they put coffee in my tea that I ordered), they do not fix the mistake. I had gotten my matcha latte (it's a kind of green tea) to go, and when I returned to explain to the two women that were working that a matcha latte did not have espresso in it traditionally, and that was not how this drink had been prepared the MANY times I had gotten it in the past, they did not offer to fix it. (I didn't ask for them to, either, in all fairness.) I then sent a message to the Facebook page explaining what happened and that there was a training issue. I waited 2 days, no response. Sent another message. Another 10 days go by, nothing. I sent another message and wrote a public message on a post on their page. RUDE and disrespectful message back about how I made a mistake and that they watched me in the video. I will...

We pretty routinely go here for bubble tea, coffee, and other custom drinks. There are two or three younger staff members that we usually see and they are always amazing. Great attitudes and they make wonderful, flavorful drinks and are always willing to make me something adventurous when I ask them to surprise me! There are two older employees here as well, a man and a woman- unfortunately, their drinks were very bland and overall... lackluster (Which is amazing considering they are using the same set of ingredients?), and their attitudes are usually short and sour (The older woman was very nice to us once though- I have to give credit. She did do pretty well with a coffee too). We have pulled up and left a few times when we see them behind the bar instead of the younger staff. I'm not sure if they are the owners that just don't want to be there, or if they are upset to be filling in for someone, but the difference is quite palpable in drink quality...

Decided to try Bubble Tea for the first time and stopped here to do so. Was a great choice! The owners are super friendly and kind, very informative about the different drinks they have available and they make their own cold brew coffee. The bubble tea with the Chocolate Chip cookie syrup was an amazing choice for flavor. My husband tried the frappe made with their cold brew and it was deliciousness... The homemade rice krispy treat with cinnamon was amazing as well. Would give 10 stars if I could. Everything about this little shop is great.
