Ooh, this place is a bit out of the way for me so I never came... I always figured they would be like all the other local farmer's markets I've been to (Whitefish Bay, Shorewood - mostly vendor supported). What a delightful surprise! This was truly a "farmers'" market. In October 2021, they were still full of fall produce, flowers, and goodies. People were generally very nice too. I was looking at some veggies by this one stand, when a guy passed by and pointed out the owner and told me he was "the nicest man at the market." I got a nice smile from him and took a picture. His was the first stand I was looking, so I didn't really believe him until after I've made a tour of the rest of the market. He really had the best smile! Though I must say, everyone else was just as friendly. Except one. I won't say who, to give her the benefit of doubt... but she kept ignoring me and taking other customers' questions and helping them while I was trying to ask a question and pay for some of her stuff. I rarely every feel discriminated against, but either she just didn't like my masked face or had something against Asians. I don't know. Just rude. I still bought something from her... wish I hadn't, because later I found out it was infested with aphids. Other than that, the experience was wonderful and I really enjoyed getting fresh produce.

Okay so maybe the West Allis farmers market is for lighter shades of skin! I was treated very rude today by a woman in slot 70 and 71. It was 5 to 12 and I was holding items that I wanted to purchase.. I was with my elderly mother the items were for her... The woman yelled at the top of her lungs that we shouldn't even be picking things up when there was clearly a lot of white people holding their items along with us. Why be a Karen with your own customer??!! .. I am very disgusted by this and to make it even worse when I look back at her she was picking her nose which I did get a good pictures of ... How gross and unsanitary she seems to be a rotten person all the way around!!! I might come back to the farmers market but definitely not to slot 70 and 71 right next to the office there!!!!!!!

I recently visited my local farmer's market and I have to say it was a really enjoyable experience. The variety of fresh produce and handmade crafts was impressive, and I loved being able to meet and chat with the vendors. The prices were reasonable and the quality of the products was excellent. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that it was a bit crowded and difficult to navigate at times. Overall, though, I would definitely recommend checking out this market if you're looking for some locally sourced goods! 🌐 Facebook: diamante/lara/realtor 🏘️ Community Member & Real Estate Services 🔑 Buy / Sell / Invest

OMG what has the City of West Allis thinking when they changed the old Trash and Treasure? I went there for the first opening, hardly any vendors and hardly any customers. I have been going there every Sunday for years to find that special find. Now the City has taken it over and it's not going to last. EVERYONE "customers and vendors" were all glum and complaining that our old trash and treasure has been taken away. We pretty much walked through buying nothing as there was only people there with sky high prices for example a table full of brand new purses from 25 to 45 dollars. Dolls from 50 and up plus there is a ATM machine that will be useless as people that used to go here simply can no longer afford anymore. Looks like we will have to go out to 7 mile fair to look for special things. I have to ask why the city would literally Trash this place :'( I will no longer be going there anymore as there is nothing affordable to buy, the thrill of a rare find is replaced with high price, overpriced items. I was asked by the vendors and the few customers to please go online and write a review because they didn't have a computer. I am so very sad that we will be saying goodbye to this place, sorry that I will never see the vendors I've made friends with and the customers that went there to socialize and just get out and have fun. It used to be over a 3 hour trip then out to lunch now it was an hour and home in plenty of time to make lunch. I saw people walk right past everything yesterday it really made me sad. You cannot take a poor end of West Allis and expect this to be a hotspot with big bucks. It will fizzle out...

To begin the season with a 1pm start time can work but the idiocy of continuing when it's 95 degrees at 1pm is incomparable to any locally run farmer's market. The reasoning of West Allis is that farmer's market is that the 'produce' is displayed better with a late start. This is wrong as lettuces wilted, fresh herbs disintegrated and nearly all the produce will be thrown away by the farmers you claim to support. Customers were almost non existent at 1pm when in preceding weeks it was too packed to move because they saw as any logical person would, their money would be wasted on ruined produce. Several vendors apologized for the problem. West Allis is not only wasting the farmer's crops and ruining their livelihood but is taking sales from them as customers stay away. But West Allis gets all the lucrative fees from the vendors so why would they care about the outcome of wasting food, costing farmers money and leaving customers walking away incredulous at such selfish and corrupt choices that the city of West Allis has made? Literally any market in the area is better. Greenfield, Shorewood, Fondy and many, many more. All of which start at logical times for a farmer's market in the summer to start. All of which have food trucks, more variety, better off street shaded parking and know how to run a market much better. Please West Allis get it together. We all LOVE the West Allis farmer's market's vendors. Stop wasting our time,...
