It had been awhile since I got a pizza here since there are so many other pizza places around, but I wanted to get something special and they always made that special pizza. I would like to have given a higher rating but they were extremely better than my recent visit. Maybe the cook was in a bad mood, has small hands, don't know much about pizza preparation or Tuesday's are crappy pizza days.
Got a X-Large pepperoni and bacon pizza carry out around 4:00pm. Prices were reasonable for what I was expecting but what I got was a major disappointment. When I opened the lid on the box at the counter half of the pizza was slid up onto the side of the box and pulled apart. Since the person sort of flopped the box on the counter and said "Here's your pizza" and went back to the kitchen in a hurry I just left cause it should eat well anyway.
At home though it was worse than I thought. When my wife opened the box she asked me if I had dropped it. It did look that way since the outer slices of one side of the pizza was smashed against the side of the box. Looked like when it was slid off the oven tray they missed their mark. Some slices were overlapping other slices too. As she proceeded to pick that side of the pizza apart it was stuck to the bottom of the box. I noticed then that this pizza was totally just thrown together. No uniformity to cover the pizza with pepperoni, bacon just in the middle of pizza; and the cheese and sauce barely covering the dough. As she peeled the slices from the box it was evident why it was stuck to the bottom of the box. The grease was horrendous on the bottom of the pizza.
With all that said, it tasted fine, BUT they use to make a great pizza. You use to taste the sauce, the cheese had better flavor and texture, every bite had pepperoni in it and the bacon was crumpled up slices of bacon, not bacon bits.
Totally unexpected experience. An X-Large pizza Should Not have the amount of toppings as a small pizza, drenched with grease and be man handled. I always wondered why they didn't appear to be busy whenever I drove past their place. I thought maybe they had gotten to expensive. Guess I...
Read moreDisappointed. Used their app for delivery, at the end it must've defaulted back to pick up so we had to go get it unexpectedly, last minute, no biggie. I called to check for accuracy of delivery and was told it was my fault (the person on the phone clearly couldn't have cared less). I arrived to pick up and the food boxes were piled and crushed. They left out a 10$ item (cannolis), the salad was full of brown lettuce and the fries were soft and undercooked.
I should've checked every single item at this point, that's on me. But, we were in a hurry, that's why I selected delivery originally.
We try to only use small business so this is a shame. The food that we could eat was very good, we just couldn't eat 3 of the 7 items. I'm sure they're a good place but, we will not use them again.
EDIT after "owner" response: I almost didn't respond because the owners response was so bad by itself and I generally dont make a big deal about small things like this. The review response is about as expected, just lies and ugly blaming everyone and everything else. Maybe 20 words were exchanged when I picked my order up (at the exact time I was told via the big dog app btw, not "over an hour"), no words were rude by anyone involved at least while I was present. Not sure what "footage" could show other than how bad they mightve acted about me after I left. I held back the fact about the 15% driver tip via the app that I was told was an "in house tip", not sure what for on a now pick up order. We were never told anything about the canolies being out, even after I asked if this was the entire order and was told yes (it was clearly not). More lies - there was no refund given, not on the app, not on our card. No one tried to make amends as the owner stated, not that we needed it. Guess they'll just not even mention the photos or bad salad etc
Big picture- small business with terrible service does good enough to stay operating. All the under 5 star reviews are service based. It's pretty impressive to cause even a door dasher to leave a review...
Read moreThe restaurant gives you small town vibes, and was a casual atmosphere. We came here for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon and were able to walk up to the counter and place our order immediately upon arrival. There were tables available that we moved together to seat our larger party of 11 (6 adults and 5 children) and found that there was a good amount of space even with a bachelorette party occupying the front portion of the restaurant. There were 6 beers on tap, a variety of a few craft options and some standard domestic options to choose from. We ordered pretzels and cheese to dip in as well as a 14" pepperoni pizza. The pretzels came out first and were piping hot which was great because there's nothing worse than cold food, then the pizza came out and it was a nice crispy thin crust (also hot). The pretzels were classic pre-made, frozen pretzels that they dropped in the fryer but we were too hungry to really care (they were buttery and salty so still a win). The pizza reminded me of bar pizza back home, very cheesy and not an overly sweet sauce with large pepperoni slices. We (2 of the adults and 2 children) ate the entire thing, the perfect size, and I would return and order it again. Our friends ordered a hoagie, which she said had great flavor and looked as good as it sounded, and a big hamburger pizza (they swear by it and order it every time they come here so it must be good if you like that kind of thing). Overall, I would return here to dine in again for their crispy,...
