Chicago Avenue Salon — Attraction in West Chicago Township

Phenomenal experience as Chicago opens for phase 4 in covid recovery. After going three months slowly developing a mullet, I knew a hair cut was not a matter of if, but when. After doing some investigation, I reached out to the salon to ask their covid policy. They advised they require guests to wear a mask and to call when outside to get in. "Great start" I thought, having zero idea how haircuts work post-pandemic. Worst case, I could walk by see how it looks and cancel if I felt uncomfortable. However, Chicago Ave Salon clearly knows Lori isn't playing around, and their prevention policy was on point. You not only call to get in, but you are immediately asked to fill out a questionnaire AND get your temperature taken. Awesome. You get your hands sprayed with some disinfectant before you are seated. Every is wearing a mask (staff and guests) and everyone is cool with it. Is it tricky to cut hair with a mask on? Probably, but the quality of my hair cut was phenomenal. Megan (who is just awesome) turned this soon to be sasquatch into an actual human with arguably the best hair cut I have ever had. Ummm... I need more stars 5 is definitely not enough! I moved from another state and of course bringing in some quarantine hair looking to get my hair back to life in the looks to find a new Salon. I don’t even know where to start !! The receptionist Gianna literally offered and walked outside with me to help pay for parking since I was unfamiliar with the system to pay! Supper sweet and definitely helpful! She made sure Covid precautions are being met which made me feel comfortable! THEN! ...Michelle who colored my hair has made this experience amazing! It’s so nice to talk to someone who listens and relates with feedback! She appeared very knowledgeable, she was fast but payed close attention to detail and insured I knew exactly what she was doing or what her plans were! I told her what I wanted but also gave her the ball and told her to take over and fix me up and she did exactly just that and more ! I started to going to Chicago Ave Salon three months ago, having Taylor as my stylist. I randomly chose her from the salon's website. So far I've had her cut my hair once and color it 3 times (single color process and a few highlights). When I brought in pictures of cuts and colors I like, she asked questions to make sure she understood what I wanted. When I ask her opinion about what I'm thinking about, she's honest and will explain the "why" behind her opinion.
