Dear Hobby Lobby Management,
I recently visited your store and unfortunately had a disappointing experience with one of your employees, Mallory. When I first approached her for assistance in finding a specific item, she didn’t even allow me to finish my sentence before abruptly responding that whatever was on the shelf was all that was available. I found this dismissive and unprofessional, as I hadn’t even fully explained what I was looking for.
After that interaction, I sought help from another employee, a male associate whose name I didn’t catch. He made an effort to check, but quickly returned with the same response — that what was on the shelf was all they had. Ironically, I found the item I was looking for in the very next aisle. When I pointed this out to Mallory and said, “You see, there was more,” she replied, “I don’t want to deal with that.”
Additionally, Mallory was not wearing a name tag, which made it necessary for me to ask for her name. While she did eventually provide it, it felt like she only did so because her coworker Alicia, who appeared to be a supervisor, was present. When I brought up the issue with Alicia, she stated that it wasn’t Mallory’s department — which I understand — but I believe Mallory could have simply directed me to someone who could help instead of dismissing me altogether. As a customer it leaves a very bad impression when employees don’t do their job, or at least try to.
Furthermore, I want to address something that I found particularly concerning from a hygiene and presentation standpoint. Mallory was wearing a bodysuit that was unclipped, causing the crotch area to hang out visibly in the back. This was not only extremely unprofessional, but also felt unhygienic, especially in a customer-facing retail environment. I believe maintaining proper attire is essential when representing a brand.
I’m sharing this feedback in hopes that it will lead to improved customer service and professionalism for future guests. Thank you for taking the time...
Read moreOnly one of two shops within my driving distance that carries a decent variety of colors for Miyuki Delica seed beads (The other shop is closer but they only carry 8 colors), I will admit it's great for emergency color/supply grabs. However, the price is definitely higher than prices I see online for the same amount, about a $2 to $3 difference. Not exactly wanting to shell out too much for these pretty beads for my project (Was up +$40 for one very small project), but like I said earlier, it's good for on-the-spot needs. Just wish they carried a bit more color varieties, especially for the reds, oranges, yellows, greens, and grays. There are plenty of violets/purples and blues though.
Oh, and more finishes too. I find a few too many aurora borealis (AB) types and lacking in other finishes, in particular matte and ceylon.
They never seem to carry the galvanized gold beads... It doesn't even have to be the 24k plated one. Just the normal gold beads. They have silver galvanized but never gold galvanized.
One more thing, maybe Hobby Lobby can pass this on to their Beaded Treasures division, but can you PLEASE put the bead color code on the labels? It helps especially when I have to buy more beads of a particular color and I've been noticing some of the newer labels are lacking this crucial bit of information.
Other than that, it's a nice place to stop by whenever I'm heading home from school and need...
Read moreWent in today to look for some decor for our house with the wife. We found an item in the his and hers section that had a 40% off. At check out the cashier said that the item was not on sale and called for a manager to check.
Manager came back shaking his head and just said nope it's not on sale and so my wife and I said fine, paid for our other items.
While I was paying, my wife had walked back over to the his and hers aisle and grabbed the 40% of flyer from the aisle and handed to the manager on her way out.
Having lost my wife in the store and went to the aisle because I saw that's where she was headed. My wife called me and let me know she was outside. I came outside to see that the manager had followed my wife outside and was talking quite loudly at her. He said he would have given her the price if she had just shown him where it was. Firstly, that's not our job. Do a better job checking for prices when there is a discrepancy .
Secondly, don't follow my wife outside and raise your voice when I'm not there. As soon as I came out and asked what was going on he slinked off saying "nothing's wrong here". He didn't even go back in the store after that.
Garbage customer service, where the customer apparently is never right. Never shopping...
