This has been my parish for many years, and we have seen a lot of changes. I go elsewhere quite often now due to some of the changes in the last couple of years, because Mass has loss some piety and reverance, because of distractions. One of which is the monitors placed in the Sanctuary around the altar walls. We did not need those and they have become very distracting when they put anything up there that moves, such as bubbles, or video footage. Sad that this is going on in the Catholic Church. When the monitors are turned off they are a complete eye-sore. They are not used to assist with praise and worship music as at other parishes, but to just put up a few sentences from the Mass, and some other non-critical information. Our eyes and hearts should be on Jesus Christ, the Mass, and the gospel readings and the homily, and whatever we have used in the Holy Tradition of the Catholic Church. The other distracting thing is the very loud water flow from the baptismal font that was brought in from else where, it is very loud, other fonts at other parishes flow gently, or are silent. The parish for years has had a problem with excessive talking, which is not just disrespectful to those who are praying, but to the Lord in the Tabernacle. This started years ago, and just gets worse by the year, and no one does much to bring attention to it. It should be verbalized at the Mass, peridocially until people learn as to why the need for silence, and not gratutious chatting. The Sanctuary has become a social gathering place, and...

However, if you're looking for a faithful Catholic liturgy, go elsewhere. It's not the absolute worst, but it isn't great. The music ministry is the majority of the problem. They hardly touch the organ they have. They literally play parts of the liturgy as if it were their personal jazzy show-tune style, and many clap at the end of the last song. Pope Benedict said when people give applause at the liturgy, they've lost all sense of what it is actually about. It's so utterly frustrating to have such obnoxious music, because so much piety, reverence and reflection is lost. That being said, I'll give the volunteers the benefit of the doubt that their intentions are wonderful, but come on man. There's a reason NOBODY under 50 attends mass here voluntarily. The 70's are gone. Protestant Catholicism is no...
