The staff at the Novi store referred us to the Westland Best Buy because we were trying to take advantage of an open box deal. Upon arriving, we found an open box deal for a stove that had been red tagged with a sign that says you can also receive up to an additional 40% so we inquired about the price...asking what is the additional off so the clerk says... the sign says Up To 40% as if we couldn't read. I said, I can read but still have questions.😊He says, well the manager Doug is not going to give additional off which my husband and I found strange since the rep didnt leave our presence nor asked anyone about the pricing. With that, we asked to speak to the manager Doug F. He walks over appearing to be rushed...he says, yes I can't do anything on the price. I said, regarding price...according to the label the price was reduced using a rating of satisfactiory he says, "yeah it says that but I did fair for this product".
With that statement and his disdainful attitude, my concerns were esclated because as a consumer if it's rated as satisfactory per the sticker but you did fair in your head how are we to know his assessment/pricing was unbias and therefore, not subject to other factors, such as him simply having a bad day.
As I ask more questions, he proceeds to tell me he does ALL open box appliances pricing using fair as the condition.
I took pictures of the label that was attached to the stove which clearly proves there is a discrepancy between what we were advised, Best Buy policy and what we paid.
What Doug advised isn't consistent with Best Buy's policy for open box items that have dents which says a Satisfactory Product does not include dents, chips, cracks or deep scratches which is clearly what the item we bought was rated.
See photos, where clearly there is a huge dent in the back of the stove and sticker that reflect condition as Satisfactory vs. Fair.
We are frequent shoppers at Best Buy and I will say this store and the services was not what we are accustom to receiving at Best Buy.
I will be sharing my review with their corporate office as well. If nothing else there should be transparency in pricing not left up to disengaged associates.
Note, how the appliance was wrapped for transporting... the top is exposed no bubble wrap, no protection. We had to advise them the item would be laying down just get more wrap which no one was in hurry to do.....Ridiculous
Buyer Beware when Buying Open Box Items...
Read moreOrdered a stove, microwave and open box fridge. Got them scheduled for delivery and got the wrong fridge delivered. Called but got stuck with the best buy customer service line so had to go up to the actual store, talked to the manager and he helped us out to get the fridge delivered because the salesperson had wrung it up wrong. Steve was the manager who helped us and we would give him 5 stars, he was amazing and sorted it out the best he could. We got the fridge rescheduled and te delivery team called and canceled on us. We called and had to get it scheduled yet again but was again canceled this time due to weather on the day of delivery. Had to reschedule yet again, all this while taking days off work or getting family to be there for the delivery. After this time, we finally got the fridge we had ordered. But the delivery team did not measure, even though the team who had delivered the wrong fridge measured and went through my back door as that was where the fridge was going, the team was in charge of doing the exchange of the two fridges, went through the wrong door, as my family had to be there as I could not take another day off work for this mess, and they ended up damaging multiple walls and pictures that were on the walls. We called the team who did the delivery and the person said they would look into, the team is claiming no damage even though we have before and after pictures of rhe house as we just bought it and painted when we moved in. Took almost 2 months to get my fridge and we are still dealing with the headache from the experience trying to get someone to own up for the damage that was caused to my house. Along with this, the team who delivered my stove and microwave were supposed to install my microwave, but didn't and my fiance had to do it. This was an over range microwave. Overall an awful headache filled process and we wish we never bought the...
Read moreGreat store to shop at, but the warrenty on mini frides are useless. Bought two insignia mini fridges this year 2023. The first insignia 4.9cf mini fridge was purchased on April 1st, and the second unit was paid on May 1st. Some time in the month of September, I noticed that the mini fridge from April, is constantly running. Didn't think of it at first, until I was timing it by the wall clock. The second unit is still working as it is supposed to. Called best buy to see if I can get a tech to check it out, and was told that they can only work on fridges of 8cf or larger. Even though the one I had is still under the manufacturer warrenty? You can't make a house call? They said to just bring it in. OK, like I can! I don't drive, and I don't have that kind of money to get a cab to take it back, and also one question. What in the hell am I going to do with the frozen food that's in it? I am on a fixed income, and can't afford to replace the food if it goes bad. I have all ready lost the used fridge that I had, due to too many power outages because of last year's storms. I can't keep on replacing food like that. You guys need to work on making acceptions for the smaller units as well. This is unacceptable, how you can sell them but can't make a house call for those who are low income? If I could have afforded a full size unit, I would have gotten one a long time ago! This idea of a warrenty needs to cover all mini fridges, that includes house calls. Also asked about a replacement part, and was told you don't have one. So my question to you is: how would you fix it, if there are no parts to get? I know what the problem is... It's the thermostat. It is stuck on the...
