I really don’t think that it’s too much to ask for a laundry mat that I can use that’s not going to destroy my clothes, smell like dirty construction worker/grease, has a washer that actually uses hot water that also takes your liquid fabric softener that is actually going to clean your clothes AND THAT IS CLEAN- but apparently the bar has been set really low for laundromats in the Wilmington area, and trust me I’ve been to them all! (The WORST being Carolina coin, laundry [Feel free to go here if you want to pay more for dirty clothes where you wait for a dryer because there’s only three in the building that actually work and those that work are filled with metal holes that will destroy your clothes] seriously- DO BETTER.) The standards have, and are still increasingly going downhill at an alarming rate for almost EVERY SINGLE ONE. I spend a lot of money on my clothes as well as my detergent and dryer sheets and in the last six months I’ve had to throw away about $300 worth of clothes because they either had oil, stains, grease stains from the dryer, or rust stains from the washer OR HOLES FROM THE DRYER (Carolina coin laundry.) I really don’t feel like it’s too much to ask for a place that just simply get your clothes clean and dry, while not breaking the bank.. Never mind being clean, I’ll take just the clean/dried clothes AND PAY YOUR PRICES if you’re able to offer this but it seems to be out of arms reach for Wilmington, North Carolina. I decided to try the last place on the list today with all failed hopes and very low standards, but to my VERY surprise I was FINALLY rest assured that all hope is not lost! Upon my immediate arrival, I was welcomed by a nice quiet, relaxing atmosphere that was CLEAN!!! (unintentionally expected) But let’s talk about these washers and dryers ya’ll… apparently they have a new owner here, who does not mind taking the extra effort to keep this place as tidy as he would his own home. They have a new plumbing for the washers and heat fixtures to make sure that your laundry is actually washed on hot, if so chosen, they actually fill up with water, and even better- they use your liquid fabric softener, best of all- IT CLEANS YOUR CLOTHES!! [Praise Jesus hallelujah.] But my favorite part here is the dryers. The owner has taken the liberties of having the entire duct system cleaned, and from the looks of it, he inspects, and takes care of his dryers. (Aka- no holes- CAPE FEAR COIN LAUNDRY 🤨) No sh*, my full dryer load took less than 15 minutes to completely dry. My clothes did not feel and smell burnt afterwards. You won’t even believe me when I tell you that I did all of this under $0.75!! With all of the spare time that I now had to spend, I decided to speak to the guy who was working the laundromat- Derek, let’s just have a moment of silence for the revival of customer service here.. He has been working here for like 10 years and it knows all about the place, he told me about the new owner, hence all of the new upgraded equipment, and how the new owner is really taking a priority in keeping this a not only average laundromat, but one that reaches above the rest. This place had me at hello but when I found out that they’re not done, they’re planning on doing even more to make this the *best laundry mat in Wilmington! The entire time I was speaking with Derek he was either cleaning or helping someone with their laundry. And I told him about my past experience at the local laundromats here, and he has some very useful insight on the entire subject, but a girl doesn’t kiss-n-tell if you want to find out, you’ll have to come in here and speak with them yourself- he is the most professional and customer friendly service worker I have met since Covid. He would have exceeded the bar even prior to. One may find it silly to be so liberated by a laundry mat, but like they say, you really don’t know what you got...
Read moreI usually use this laundry mat but today I met ms. Debbie she is a sweet lady.. I have no issue with her she is a hard working lady. She do her best for her customers to be satisfied. She has great customer skills, and she is very respectful, but in the other hand, I came to the same laundromat, give or take about a month and a half two months ago and got into it with this lady, I guess her name is Miss Mildred she is very disrespectful. And I told her that I was going to talk to her boss about the issue and she clearly said she didn’t care so now I don’t come when she is working but I never said nothing to her boss but she does not have customer service skills and she’s not even a hard-working lady. She only sit there and talk and talk and be on the book. cross puzzle I think that’s what it was. But yeah, that’s my opinion about this laundromat. Laundromat is clean and there’s another guy that works there I think his name is Jarret. He is a great person. Very respectful good...
Read moreWhen the washing machine breaks your laundry needs don't stop. SO...you basket all your laundry and go to the nearest laundry mat. If you are like me your expectations are pretty low. This laundromat has surprised me though. It is well maintained - both machines and cleanliness.
The last time I was in I needed to use the bathroom so I timidly opened the door. To my surprise the men's bathroom was probably the cleanest and one of the most attractive public bathrooms I've seen. That was a big surprise!!
I've visited during the day and near closing and it is always well supervised by friendly, helpful staff. Mildred was working today and was super helpful!
Their small $3.00 machines will easily do my 2 bushel basket full of laundry in less than 25 minutes.
Doing the washing ain't so bad here. Take your phone, a magazine or book and in no time...
