I have been a resident here for 3-4 years. When I first moved in, rent was lower than it is now. It made sense that the amenities that I paid for to the ones that I actually used ratio was good. To clarify, the laundromat (which has been updated since) was terrible. It required a card system that required you to go into the office, a minimum of $5 per card (which is reloadable), and the washers were small. I would go to the laundromat in a shopping plaza. Since the rent was cheap I didnât feel anyway about going a distance to wash my clothes. Now, my rent has been raised and my apartment hasnât been updated. The outside of the complex and the aforementioned on-campus laundromat have been updated. They added storm doors to what used to be open air walkways to dark stairs. They painted the parking lot, planted some pretty flowers, took down the torn and tattered American flag, and laid some multch. I believe the roofs and the gray paint came before the new management. When comparing the price of my apartment, and amenities used to have ratio to other appartments I have to say I am being robbed. The bathroom, laminate flooring is coming up, shower pressure is completely off, instead of redoing the tile I believe the painted it, the vent fan doesnât work. Throughout the apartment is laminate wood floors and carpet in the bedrooms and in the living room (which I find weird). Only one room has a cable outlet, all the electrical sockets are questionable, and the windows have not been updated. HVAC system does well but I do have issues with maintenance (Iâll save that for its own space). The ventilation of the apartment is another thing in itself. Mind you this apartment was built in 1975, Iâm assuming they didn't think central air all the way through. Each room has a one single vent. Depending on which way your apartment and room face, sunrise/sunset is going to be hotter than two slabs of bacon on a frying pan. The AC will not be able to keep up with this and you donât have ceiling fans. Maintenance is now handled via an app, because forbid you ever call the office and someone picks the phone up. They come unannoced, no call beforehand, and unprepared. Not entirely their fault but Iâll say itâs commutation thing (that app is terrible). When they are complete you donât get a notification nor do the leave a work order. It might be me but I like to know if a stranger I requested to come into my home tells me he was there so I donât leave a million VMs waiting for service. The front office, I donât know if they are there or not because I work the same times they are open. It would be nice on weekends maybe a 9-12 or something once a month. When I do go into the office the office is aesthetically pleasing but the people that work there service is not. The people that worked here before felt like a mom and pop almost. Current management is a corporation and they...
Read moreWORST PLACE TO LIVE!! My fiancĂ© and and I moved there in December of 2018 and within the first few weeks we started to realize that what we were shown was not what we were getting. First, the apartment we were shown was said to look exactly like the one we were getting, that was so wrong. Maintenance is horrendous!! We went a month without a/c and complained everyday about it and all we got back was âsomeone is working on itâ. They gave us a number to call that was their maintenance emergency number, I called twice and no one answered. It wasnât until I told them that I have asthma that they fixed it, because they are scared of getting sued. Within the first few weeks, our refrigerator stopped working, the vent over the stove didnât work. They said they cleaned it prior to us moving in. When we moved in there was bugs and dirt all over. Thatâs not even the worst of it... we left to go back south to visit our family and when we came back our water heater broke and flooded the entire room and we had to rent a vacuum at Home Depot to get the water out, we called the emergency maintenance number and of course no one answered! We went the next day to complain and get our money back, and they said that they wonât reimburse us because we shouldâve call the emergency maintenance number. Mold then started to build and started to make my Cystic fibrosis worse, I even got bronchitis because of it. I was sick every day for weeks and when I went to complain they said because they donât see mold they canât move us out or pay for a hotel, they wanted us to pay for a hotel. They only let us leave because my fiancĂ© threatened to sue, and they knew they were in the wrong, and we have videos and pictures to prove all this.
Itâs been 2 month since weâve moved out and they still say we owe them money and it now went to collections and is hurting my fiancĂ©âs credit, but they never said we owed them money. This is the second time they said we owe them money when we have a paper stating that we can break the lease without owing money.
THIS IS THE WORST PLACE TO LIVE!!! Stay away from here because there are better places than this! Shoreview gave us a headache and anxiety. I hope you read this and...
Read moreInitially I wasnât going to write a review but I still feel slighted by the service that this team provided me. When I first took a tour of the apartment, they didnât have mine available so they showed me another. When they showed me the place, there were dead roaches in the apartment they were showing me and the leasing agent Chriss says âthere shouldnât be any living when you move in.â I was immediately turned off by many things, after I did my application and put my security deposit down, it was implied that the security deposit was refundable. I was told that I would have my welcome letter by the end of the day, I finally received it via email three days later. The welcome letter had the rest of the charges that I needed to move in, they added another $750 to my security deposit. What was the reason for taking my security deposit initially? I ultimately made the decision not to move in, and when I called to ask for My security deposit back, the manager told me with her extreme condescending tone and mannerisms, that she âcanât do anything and I shouldâve called or figured things out sooner.â I called her back after she hung up with me, and mentioned that her Lisi age it did not do things in a timely manner regardless of whether or not I wanted to move in or stay where I was. Not only does this company lack the professionalism that we desire as tenants, they also do not operate with integrity. I would highly suggest looking elsewhere for places to stay, there are much better places within a mile...
