Not the happiest after today’s visit unfortunately..I asked for a refill on my nails and look up to Michael completely taking my nails off ☹️ when I asked why he was doing that he said “oh you need a full set”. I was there on September 2nd and the grow out was not that bad. I had to get a new full set bc of this. I had my 6 year old daughter with me and we were both going to get pedicures together. Her tech comes to get her and I had to tell her she can wait with me until I go because it’s bonding time. No need to separate us they were not that busy.
We get to the pedicure chairs and the second I said I just wanted a classic pedi with gel ($20 extra) I felt like a burden..the woman doing my daughters toes was obviously talking about me and my daughter to my tech, Michael & I wanted to put on my translate app but didn’t want a scene in front of my daughter. My daughter needed help with the chair and not once did her tech offer to help push the correct button on the massage. My hands had foil and gloves on so I couldn’t help. She didn’t even come back to check if her toes were dry. I sit to get my nails done and now it’s a new tech doing my nails, Tiffany. She tries to upcharge me to do a manicure for $10 to clean up cuticles before my full set (the one I didn’t ask for). What is the point of paying for a full set and you aren’t going to clean my cuticles already? I politely decline.
From there the job was sloppy. In the middle of getting my nails done, she tells me my breath stinks and pulls out of a pack of gum and says I need gum. I found that very offensive & rude. For one, I know my breath did not stink that’s disgusting and for two, it’s one thing to offer gum but then say “hey your breath stinks” flat out is rude. One hand is longer than the other and the polish is all uneven at the base on the thumbs. I declined the color SHE chose and asked for the one I picked, and she was seemingly upset..I think to myself, “Ma’am they are MY hands”. When I go to pay, she hovers over me the entire time waiting to see what tip percentage I am going to pick. Very much pressured to tip over what should have been given. I am always a solid 20% tipper, but today I chose 18% & looking back I wish I would have done even less.
In a previous visit, my mom did not like Tiffany’s attitude and service and tipped her as see fit & Tiffany clearly was upset about that didn’t say thank you hope to see you again nothing just cashed it out and walked away. She also cut my mom’s skin on both hands and feet. I’m really upset with the expectancy of over 20% tips with poor service. If you visit, make sure you watch the checkout screen.
I am really really upset about this visit, because I truly loved Tipsy and drive all the way from Apopka because I love the original service I received on my first few visits. Today was probably my 6th or so visit and I definitely feel taken advantage of. There are too many nail salons out there to deal with upset, greedy, & rude nail techs (Tiffany). Michael is always nice but I don’t like that he just took my nails off without asking what I wanted and then rushed the pedicure. Also tried to upsell me twice, but not every visit will be an upcharge. That shouldn’t mean that I get 2 swipes on the foot scrub with the pumice stone and 30 second massage. I am still paying for a service. Then, when I go to pay I see I was about to be charged twice for 1 sparkling water. The last visit I also was charged $10 extra for “super square” whatever that means, because they were just square and short. There was nothing special about my nails that needed $10 extra charge. I could go on but I’ll stop. Really upset after today’s visit. $180 visit today...
Read moreI have been coming to this salon for more than 3 years every month. The prices are high because it's winter park, ok it's fine with me if the work is well done. I do the dip on my nails because apparently it doesn't damage the nails (less than the gel) I trusted the team, between each time I remove the dip and I wanted to do it again, I asked the person who was taking care of me if I should stop to let my nails breath a little bit so let them without anything on it but they keep on saying that I don’t need to do that because they look healthy and fine. Here are the pictures of my « healthy nails »! Do you think that after spending thousands dollars in this salon it’s ok ? I’m really pissed + they always speak to each other’s in their language so you don’t understand what they are saying, really rude and you don’t really understand what is going on. The manager told me today August 13th that I still have a clear gel on my nails that’s why they look like that but the lady (Sophie) told me that it’s not gel it’s my nail very damaged, she was great by the way, she tried to save my nails but she said that it’s pretty bad….the manager was ready to ask her to remove that nail part on the top of my pinky finger even if he wasn’t sure that it was gel or my real nail! Unbelievable ! I did a manucure, I paid the full price after spending $100 for 3 years and got those disgusting nails, Crazy! This salon is ok they do a good job on just putting the nail polish but you'll have to ask for the same person all the time so they know and care about you, sometime I was in pain when they were removing the dip, some of them are not gentle they don’t care just doing their job as fast as they can to have more customers and got more tips. My only waxing experience was a real nightmare. I’m very disappointed, just be careful when you’ll have to remove your gel or dip there ask them to be gentle and remove everything and put some oil, you don’t want your nails...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars, I would. I am so upset, I'm ready to scream. My mom and I have been coming to this salon for dipping manicures for a few months now. Although we have been disappointed that you cant seem to get the same technician twice, we have tried to put that aside, relax with a manicure and a mimosa and just enjoy ourselves. That changed today. My mom gets her nails dipped. Now the last time she was there, the lady put fresh tips on for the extension to keep nails healthy. She was fine with that. Today, the lady just decided to cut those nails without consulting my mom. Then my mom showed a white color with a little bit of sparkle. To her surprise, she got pink glitter. When I finally said something when I noticed my mom's grimace, the lady looked shocked that we didnt like it and wanted the white color we asked for in the first place. She begrudging took the color off and replaced it with silver glitter. Now my mom happens to like bling and glitter but that was not what she asked for. This was still not white but after being there for over 2 hours at this point my mom was not going to ask for the white for a third time. Towards the end, I went to go pay and I was outraged that they were charging for tips and longer nails on extensions that we never asked them to trim off. When I refused to pay for the new nail tips, the technician started arguing with me that is what my mom wanted. Not only did they not apologize, they have the nerve to charge for things when we dont ask for them! To make matters worse when my mom left she noticed her cuticles were bleeding because of the way the nails were filed. That can cause an infection. We have gotten our nails done multiple times and I am outraged at being treated like they were doing us a favor. I will not be coming back here again and strongly suggest other people in the area find better nail salon at the...
