I wanted so badly to like this place when I heard about it. Did not live up to the hype at all. I also experienced what some of the other bad reviews are talking about when it comes to management. All their responses are vauge and basically excuses and claiming the reviewer was not being truthful. Sad, not.how to retain a customer with a bad experience. You need own the mistakes. It's how you handle them that defines your establishment.
I took a couple bites of my chicken biscuit and it was raw in the middle. It quickly turned my stomach and I got sick in the bathroom. I came out quietly and asked to speak to a manager and then asked if we could speak off to the side as to not ruin any other customers experience. When I told them he was visibly frustrated and proceeded to tell me it could not be raw and quoted the time they fry then for. Keep in mind that I just showed him the raw sandwich and it was still in the wrapper on his hand. Lol. Seems to be in line with how they respond to other issues by reading responses to their reviews. $9 for a.chicken biscuit is not cheap so you would expect quality to be the goal when a issue is brought to the owners attention. Won't be back, not because of the issue but because of how it was handled.
(Can't wait to see the response on how it didn't happen)
And go......
edit after response
I have no agenda sir, but as expected you dismiss that the chicken was raw. Thats my issue. You seemed more annoyed that I brought it to your attention and tried to tell me that it could not be raw with the same excuse that you use here, "we fry them and check with a thermometer" while you had the visibly raw sandwich in your hand. Not sure why how many orders you make on any given day matters when you put out a raw product. This is more about how you handled it which is why I wanted a refund. If you don't get the point by this response I am sure you never will. It's not the mistakes sir, its how you handle them. Best of...
Read moreSo I decided to stop by this new chicken place to snag a chicken sandwich for lunch, so please understand this review regards only the sandwich and not the biscuit since I did not have any biscuit on this visit. Firstly, parking can really suck because there happens to be many popular businesses in this area, and they all share the same parking lot/garage, so if you aren’t lucky you may have to either park very far or not have a spot at all. I got super lucky. When I entered I noticed the place was very busy, and had outdoor seating that was full. They had a ton of staff inside, and they were all running around. Not a single one acknowledged my presence, which was pretty humorous because I saw a sign posted in the kitchen that said “make sure to greet all customers”. LoL. You must order via iPad at the front desk, and you pick up your order through an automated lockbox system next to the front desk. You handle your own drinks at the fridge and/or fountain drink system. I ordered the original righteous chicken sandwich which has pimento cheese and potato buns plus a side of fried okra. The food was prepared reasonably quickly. I think part of the problem with the taste of the food was I had too high of expectations, so maybe if I had no expectations I would’ve enjoyed it more. I will say however the okra was undeniably poor quality, and I regret ordering it. It wasn’t even fresh, it was lukewarm and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The crisp on the chicken and the taste of the chicken was excellent. I bet if I had ordered a biscuit based item I would’ve been much more satisfied. We’ll see when I give this place a second chance. I did find it quite amusing that on checkout the system queried me for a tip! I really should’ve left 2 stars, but I’m being generous since the sandwich tasted decent. (It...
Read moreGlad Rise has made its way to Florida, and specifically central Florida! Overall, arguably the best breakfast sandwich around, if you’re into biscuit breakfast sandwiches. Keep in mind, as it stands right now, definitely a takeout spot and not so much a dine in spot, only three tables available and it’s all outside, nothing inside.
Still giving 5/5 stars, but customer service could see some improvements. I added bacon to my chicken egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, with tax, adding bacon was about $3.25. Unfortunately they forgot to put bacon on my sandwich and when I brought it back to the counter, and the missed order to their attention, they just grabbed two pieces of bacon and put it on my wrapper next to my sandwich. I said to the person who helped me, “I’m sorry if I’m being needy, but that’s a little strange to just give me bacon on the side when I ordered the sandwich to have bacon on it”. They employee then said, “do you want me to put the bacon on for you?” to which I said, “yes please”. They then proceeded to tell me, “well, we’re really busy and I can’t put the bacon on for you”.
Not the best customer service and kind of terrible customer service if I’m being honest. I ordered the sandwich with bacon, so it’s most certainly not unreasonable to want the bacon to be on the sandwich. At a minimum, the employee should have corrected the incorrect order and put the bacon I ordered and paid extra for, on the sandwich, and exceptional customer service, going above and beyond, would have been to make my item all over again, how I actually ordered it (and paid extra for).
All that said, will be back. Hope this feedback helps out the owner(s) of this Rise...
