Take your babies! Take your toddlers! Take your neighbor's kids! Infants through ages five years old will have a wonderful time playing by themselves or forming and re-forming their own groups. Such a thoughtful idea, beautifully presented in a safe and interesting environment. There is an area reserved for infants only and it is stocked with infant appropriate activities, Children who can walk and climb can play in an actual treehouse, "ride" in a trolley, go grocery shopping, prepare meals in a kitchen, explore an upstairs playroom (with life-sized teddy bear, multi-member dollhouse), wash and dry laundry, buy and sell tickets to the puppet theater as well as role play (with costumes and changing backdrops). They can build with Legos and design with wooden train tracks. Plus there is a designated reading area with tons of picture books, grouped by subject matter, and a rocking/gliding chair that's wide enough to accommodate an adult reader and two children. There is child-sized furniture, too. There's more... It can be a very noisy place with lots of little people running underfoot, but it's a great place to network with other parents and caregivers. And because it's an extension of the Baltimore County Public Library, there are resources immediately available. (Check for storytimes.) This is a great place for children to learn social skills, plus it's open seven days a week. (Check for hours). The best part is, it's free. (A second similar facility is located...

As it is, the staff are constantly having to clean up areas and clean up behind children.
There are a lot of helicopter parents, but I feel as long as you're keeping and eye on your child/children and aware of how their playing and interacting with others, then just let them go burn off steam.
My oldest just turned 6 so she's aged out and super...
Read moreStoryville thank you for a fun, safe & cool place to play and learn today! So fun for both of my little people. We loved exploring the rooms together and trying our hand at being independent across the room from one another. Something for all ages birth thru 5. It was amazing to see great literature come alive with strong books relating to the many topics placed in the appropriate room. Thanks again storyville. Both my kids are already lobbying for their next learning adventure at Storyville. As a homeschool mama I was thrilled to share Storyville with some of my peers and their littles today. Way to...
