Zauq Halal Kitchen — Restaurant in Maryland

COULDN’T 🛑 EATING IT!

My order was for the Nashville hot 🐔 🥪 combo with 🧅 💍 💍 and a 1/2 & 1/2 order of loaded 🍟. Here’s my breakdown of the 3 items.

🥪: 4.2 of 5.0 * Bun and slaw were very tasty. Sandwich lacked the seasoned hot oil you see with a traditional NHCS. The crisp on the batter was on the lighter side. The chicken breast itself lacked a sort of signature spice that would let you know that’s it’s not plain chicken.

💍 💍: 4.7 of 5.0 * Onions tasted fresh, had a light batter and had good flavor. If I’d been able to eat them there they likely would’ve been higher.

🍟: 4.9 of 5.0. If you come with the expectation that the fries will have any crispness to them like I did you’ll be disappointed. BUT if you let that part go you’ll have a really good experience. I’m sitting here regretting AND NOT regretting how much of those fries I ate. There’s a little sweet, a little savory, a subtle spice then that smooth potato flavor. 👌👌👌

The store is bright, open and inviting. There are some drinks in there that I haven’t seen before but look interesting. The staff was courteous and friendly which is RARE in this zip code. The group that came in after me were greeted like old friends and I feel like that’s a consistent theme with the level of service that I received.

I’m 100% coming back here. I’m 100% getting these fries again. The people behind me ordered 🧀 🥩 🥩 and it sounded like that wasn’t their first time trying them here. I think I may also try the 🍔.

Very Disappointing Customer Service, very Rude people behind the counter including one Pakistani Guy (Not sure about his name, but he looks like an owner). Our order was messed up many times but worst experience was when I visited with my family and ordered couple of things including Gyro. We had dine in order and take away. The dine in order's Rice was not cooked well and we brought this to the attention of that Guy who agreed that Rice was not cooked well and told us that new rice is almost ready and will be replaced in 5 mins. During this team, that rude guy kept starring at us including starring at my wife which she felt very uncomfortable about and each time when I looked at him he would look away and say , "the rice is almost ready" . 30 mins passed and there were no rice although we saw a person bringing rice and getting others order ready. When asked again , he got rude and angry. 40 mins passed and still no rice. When inquired again, he rudely gave my money back and told us that we could take that uncooked rice and do whatever with it and started shouting. Other people were watching all the Drama and God was watching too obviously. It's shameful that owners don't care about the rude shameful behavior and think that they are not accountable to anyone. Overall Review: This is my go to spot with my husband and stepson. Anytime I have someone visiting I take them here and they do NOT disappoint. The food always comes out hot and fresh. I have tried a lot of the halal places here and I can honestly say the way the fry their chicken is some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s always sooo crispy !

Customer Service: The owner is very nice and welcoming. If he notices that our food is taking some time to come out he always checks on us and makes sure we get it shortly after.

For the Muslims out there this place sells zabiha halal meat! They keep their sign of where they get their meat from on the wall.
