I have always wanted to stop here for the last 4 years and we seem to be in such a hurry. Last time I did and took several hours to enjoy the activities being staged in the parking lot. It seems the local artists actually have a competitive event and a prosperous one the middle of October where they sell their works they create in a few days. I was about asking for historical information and what a treasure trove that turned out to be. A dear lady, a local, who grew up here knows everything you should know about the place through the ages. I was taken somewhere in time with her assistance that was simple and elegant and troubling. I hope to see her again this year when I return that same middle of the month time frame in October. Read moreI came here to the WB Museum of History due to a book signing for Mark U. Wilde-Ramsing, co-author of Blackbeard's Sunken Prize. Also in attendance was famous painter and artist, Virginia Wright-Frierson, who contributed to the book with several beautiful oil paintings that she brought for showing. Mark gave a nice slide show and presented facts about his supervision over the shipwreck and the artifacts brought up from the "Queen Anne's Revenge". I will come back to this museum, as there is more to learn about life during the Colonial Era and Civil War. There is much history revealed at this museum, especially locally. You must come, and bring the kids, so they can see how their grandparents and great grandparents lived through a growing era of hard working Americans and settlers. Donations are always welcome for museums to maintain their carefully preserved antiques...
Read moreMe and my fiancé went and visited the museum and absolutely loved it. We love history! Seeing how much things have changed throughOut the years was amazing. The coordinator was extremely nice, we had caught her as she was about to close and she was nice enough to let us look around. Afterwards it’s a tradition now for me and my fiancé to go the pit and find sharks teeth and cool little things. We have actually found a lot of sharks teeth and other things that we have put in a vase and will be showing them at our wedding because it’s something that we do together, which makes it special to us!! I would definitely recommend this little museum of history...
