I understand it was quite busy for a Friday morning, but still, the staff were quite short with us, didn’t care, and were subtly rude. What infuriated me the most was that the barista who made my coffee probably had zero understanding of coffee whatsoever. I asked for an iced Americano, the cashier said “just black?” in almost a rude way too, I said yes, just black. What the barista gave me was not just black, it was super sweet and watered down. It was likely just one shot of espresso in what should’ve been two or maybe three and it was sweetened despite me deliberately asking for it not to be. The price of this watered down and sweetened Americano was exorbitantly high, and I would have asked for my money back if I had tasted it while I was still there. Please, if you get anything to-go, taste it there. Besides the quality of the food and drink, the service overall was just as abysmal. We felt corralled and manhandled at all the subtle disclaimers they gave us like “just so you know, we’re doing all drinks to-go only” and when we finished paying, the cashier COMMANDED us, saying “either wait to the side or go outside” without even giving us the benefit of the doubt to see if we were going to move (which we were). After moving to the side and following their instructions, that still didn’t stop one of the Drift servers from running...
Read moreI recently visited this branch of Drift Cafe and had an extremely disappointing experience. From the moment I arrived at 2pm and ordered some pudding, things started to go downhill. While I was enjoying my meal at my table, the waitress abruptly tossed the receipt onto my table without saying a word, just 10 minutes after I had received my order (they would close 3:30). To make matters worse, when I proceeded to pay with my credit card, she returned only to demand my signature, displaying a lack of basic courtesy.
To add insult to injury, while I was still in the midst of savoring my pudding, the waitress approached me and asked if I needed a to-go box (implying that I have to leave). Rather than engaging in an argument and ruining my day by attempting to educate her on proper behavior, I chose to remain silent. However, I feel compelled to share my experience here so that others can be wary of this establishment. Furthermore, I sincerely hope that the manager takes notice and advises their staff to treat all customers with respect, regardless of their (apparent) status. As a university professor, I normally get adequate respect. Although I personally did not let this encounter affect me, it reflects poorly on the overall experience at the...
Read moreSuper disappointed with our experience on Sunday. After getting our meal my wife had to send the fries back because they were completely inedible. Cold, rubbery. Any decent cook would have known not to send those out.
I ordered the savory stack. My entire meal was cold. The bacon was cold, the eggs were cold, the pancakes were cold. If cold food is the standard here it makes sense but usually you expect food to at least be a few degrees above room temp when the plate is sat down.
Honestly this is the second and most likely the last time I'll go. The first time I went, I waited over an hour for a table. I watched two tables get sat before me even though I was there first. When I asked why they were sat ahead of me I was told "we sat them first because they were women". So, I waited over an hour to be sat with my wife so two tables could arrive and sit immediately because Im not a woman. Absolutely ridiculous. I was reluctant to give them another chance but decided why not.
After receiving two cold meals I know for certain I won't be returning. Shame because the location is great, great vibe and server staff. Coffee was excellent. But when it comes to food and getting sat by order of arriving, this...
