What NOT to expect from a 5-star hotel with a 4.9 google rating (more than 8000 reviews): 1. Close to 2 hours delayed check-in 2. Dirty room at arrival with i) pubic hair in the bathtub, ii) hair/dirt in the sink, iii) dirty towel and bed linen, and iv) hair on the couch 3. Below average breakfast, dry food, chaotic service with severe understaffing and broken chairs 4. Constant tourbuses blocking the main entry making it difficult/impossible for other Grab cars to come to the main entrance 5. Dead bug under the pillow after the bed linen was changed 6. Employees over-promising and constantly under-delivering, spouting complete nonsense all the time (read more about Louis below) I want to talk a bit more about Louis. When checking out we found a dead bug under the pillow (bed linen was changed the day before). We brought this to the lobby as feedback and was met by Louis. He apologised and promised that if we give Melia another chance in the future he will personally make sure that our stay is perfect. As compensation I asked for the hotel to order us a cab to the airport later that day. I made it clear several times that we have a lot of luggage and that we are travelling with a baby so we need a big 7-seater car - to which he kept nodding and promising he would fix that. When we arrive back at the hotel to leave for the airport Louis had (surprise surprise) not ordered a big car, but a small sedan. Due to short time we had to stuff our luggage in the backseat - not an ideal situation with a baby! This is the same guy that promised to make sure our next stay with Melia would be perfect. Well, if you can’t remember to book the correct car (4 hours after promising it) how the hell can you promise something like that? Complete BS from the staff! I normally don’t want to single out and employee, but that incident really stood out to me. Is this how you train you employees? To just say a lot of stuff and promise things they can’t deliver on? FYI, to any other readers I suspect that the google rating here might “fake”. A lot of 5 stars with little to now text other than a name such as «Anne» or «Helen». I suspect the horde of Korean tourists are incentivised to give this a 5-star rating without actually meaning it. In my opinion this hotel does not deserve such a high rating!!

Our stay at the hotel was truly memorable, especially as we celebrated New Year’s Eve and my father-in-law’s birthday. The highlight was the stunning views of the river, city skyline, and iconic Dragon Bridge, which we enjoyed from our family room on a high floor. The room was spacious, featuring a separate bedroom, living area, and kitchenette—perfect for our family. The hotel’s indoor and outdoor pools were a great touch, offering year-round usability and keeping the kids entertained, though we would have used them more if the weather had been warmer. We also loved the New Year’s Eve dinner buffet and countdown event hosted by the hotel, complete with entertainment that made the evening unforgettable. Breakfast was a treat, with a wide variety of options available across multiple restaurants. The panoramic view rooms on the lower floors also impressed us with their views, separate living areas, and balconies. Customer service stood out throughout our stay—from the initial booking process to our departure, everything was seamless. This hotel gave us an unforgettable holiday experience, and we can’t wait to return! Hotel is also right next door to a shopping centre with a supermarket and food court (offers mainly hot pot, KBBQ options). We booked 3 rooms (1 family room, 2 panoramic rooms) for 3 nights.

RRB Good range of food available in the breakfast buffet, including Vietnamese, Korean, Indian and Continental cuisines. Breakfast is available between two different restaurants depending on the time - this review relates to Level 3, though Level M was also very good. Coffee is poured for you upon request, the staff are very attentive (I was served by Thanh). Location is great, only a short walk from Vincom Center Da Nang (located behind the hotel). The room itself has lovey views of the city and river. Between its hotels in Hue and Da Nang, Melia has shown itself to be a quality hotel chain with a focus on customer service and experience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Da Nang! Pricing was affordable and an upgrade to a higher room type (panoramic) was offered at check-in for 200K/night, along with a 200K F&B voucher and 1 hour spa treatment (partly for signing up to their reward program). Areas for improvement: - WiFi was a bit slow in the hotel, particularly when accessed from the bedroom (AP is in the lounge room) - A small brochure or letter with the times and locations of the services in the hotel (such as Breakfast, Gym, Spa) would be a great touch

I had specially booked this hotel to celebrate our anniversary and for the prime location. Upon arrival the staff were very welcoming and greeted us with welcome drinks. When we were escorted to our room I was surprised to see the room was very different than what I had initially booked and they tried to cover it up with excuses. At this point I was very frustrated but after speaking with the GM they were able to assist us and upgrade us to the best room they had for a charge of $45/night which I was okay with as long as my wife was happy and relaxed. We finally got to our room after 2 hours but they made every effort to make it up with little gestures. We finally got the Executive Suite River View :) The view from our room was the best ever and after that our entire experience at this hotel was amazing. We got to see both bridges from our room and had our own living room, kitchenette, bedroom and bath. The rooms were very clean and the service was really fast. The staff were very helpful. The hotel is conveniently located on the riverside and you can easily walk to the dragon bridge. There is a mall right behind the hotel. Overall I highly recommend this hotel !

We recently stayed at this hotel, and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. The room was elegantly designed, impeccably clean, and offered a stunning view of the ocean, making it a truly relaxing retreat. You can tell it’s an older hotel, but that didn’t detract much from the overall experience – the charm and upkeep more than made up for it. One of the highlights of our stay was the spa. Our entire family indulged in a hot stone massage, and we all absolutely loved it – truly relaxing and rejuvenating. The gym was another impressive feature; it’s extremely spacious and equipped with a wide variety of modern equipment to cater to any fitness routine. The staff deserves special recognition for their warmth and professionalism. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, adding to the overall charm of our stay. Since we visited during the holiday season, we were delighted to hear a beautiful choral performance in the lobby, which created a festive and heartwarming atmosphere. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and family-friendly getaway. We can’t wait to return!

This is my second time staying at Melia Vinpearl Riverfront Da Nang (I was last here on Sept 24 and made my way back after more travels) and there’s a reason I keep coming back. The cleanliness and luxury feel of this hotel are second to none—truly one of the nicest, if not the best, hotels in Da Nang. Every corner of the hotel is immaculate, and the ambiance exudes class and sophistication. The customer service here is top-notch, with attention to detail that makes you feel genuinely taken care of. A special shoutout to Tina—when I checked in, she instantly recognized me! Her exceptional service, warmth, and constant smile will make you feel like you’re truly taken care of and in good hands. She truly embodies the hospitality that makes this hotel stand above the rest. The breakfast buffet at Rumba is also spot on—delicious, fresh, and with a wide variety of options. It’s the perfect way to start the day. I can’t recommend this hotel enough and will absolutely be back again. 10/10 and if you’re ever in Da Nang, please don’t hesitate to book Melia, if luxury and top notch service is your criteria!
