This Garden was an accidental find as my girlfriend and I were walking up from Higgs Beach. We could see the arrangements and foliage from the outside walls and caught a few glimpses of the flowers within some gates. There was no admission fee (though a donation couldn't hurt). We learned about the historical timeline of the garden via a laminated sheet which also included a diagram of the floral layout. They request that you return the sheet. We spent about an hour and change here visually consuming all they had to offer. Many plants and shrubbery had placards in front of them but there were many varieties that did not. A Google Lens search or plant app could easily identify most. From flowering shrubs to cacti to an orchid garden, this botanical venue had a lot to offer in a way of variety. There are even restrooms on the premises. They also offered some plants for sale at very reasonable prices. If you are even slightly into gardening or horticulture, this would be a fantastic...

You must go and visit the Butterfly garden!!! There are beautiful small and quaint places in key west away from the hustle bustle drunken duval street. This tower houses one of the most gorgeous gardens inside a once used fortification. The lady who runs this place is very sweet and you can host events here. Now back to the butterfly garden. Its nestled in the back past the water foundation and is a circular garden with various plants that attract monarchs. Sit on the benches and enjoy the breeze from the water and watch these monarchs fly around...

I'm a plant person (even though I can't keep them alive) so I literally was in nirvana just enjoying the bustling floral and plants in this place.

I went to their Butterfly Garden and it was just so peaceful. They came so close that I could have touched them with my hand!

They also have some plants for sell if you want to take a little one back to your abode.

Best of all, it's FREE! They do take donations if you wish to contribute tho.

Definitely add this to your trip and check out the Higgs Beach Pier and/or Edward Knight Pier...
