Higgs Beach — Attraction in Key West

I recently visited a restaurant bar with my family in Key West with a front view of the beach and was pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. This is a very small Beach that you can take the dogs versus a dog beach.. the beach is very small and although it's pretty if you look to the right it seems like if the tide is even a little high your dog can be smashed into a wall and if you look to the left there's really no room for a dog to run at all. My dogs are medium and large I would never let them off the leash at this beach there's no room for them really to run or play and even if they go into the water it's a very short Beach meaning maybe 50 to a hundred feet wide. This place has gone down . We've come to keywest 6 to 8 times a year, and the staffing has gotten worse everytime. Just was here over the weekend . Make outside bartender wasn't friendly asked what we would like we asked for menus. Then he said that we could go inside for service. We asked why and he replied well it's going to get worse with the rain. Our reply was we're Under the over hang and your under the roof. His reply was well in going to close it down. Sent us into the bar inside which only had 7 stools so we had to get a table since 5 of the stools were taken already and their was 3 of us. Probably won't be giving this place another chance .
