Budget. Convenient! Relaxing. I stayed four or five nights in a four bunk room for women. I met a lot of people here. The tiki style area in the back is conducive to meeting other guests. You can keep your food in the refrigerator. Kitchen is open air and good. My friend Suki and I ate in one evening. She used the burner on the grill. Our vegetables turned out delicious! Thanks to Suki who knew how to season our food perfectly with the free seasonings and oil available. Luckily, my friend Jamie in Ft Lauderdale had taken me to a supermarket, where I bought things like potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, zucchini, tomatoes and yellow peppers. It all went into our yummy mea l at Seashell. For other meals, I made my fruit salads with fruit like blueberries, bananas and strawberries. I was on the bottom bunk in my room, fortunately. We had different women from all over the world in our room 18. Some only stayed one night. I remember women speaking German and some speaking Spanish. The service was good at the entrance. We had keys. The inside part locks at 9 pm. So you use a second key you get to enter anytime there. One bathroom was used for our bunk room. The other bunk room used that room also. We all managed. The desk staff gave out a key good for an inside bathroom that featured an excellent hot shower. Our stay went well. We took Lyft here. My friend Suki left by Uber. I stayed an extra night in a suite, 12, in the very back. It had its own kitchen and sofa bed that folds out. Alfredo made a fabulous salad after we 4 got settled in. We ate it outside in the private patio table a and chairs for 12. It was beautiful and relaxing. Then a few of us left for Sunset Celebration in our car. Parking space was near the suite and we could pack the vehicle easily. It's a nice pastel-colored motel and hostel. I also enjoyed the hammock in the backyard. So did many others. It was good there were areas with shade and places to get sun. The porches I noticed had places to sit in the shade in front of the rooms. There is something for everyone here. You can even rent bicycles. If you rent from elsewhere, you can still lock up at the bike racks in front. It's very goid that reception is 24 hours. They were really helpful. I recommended the motel to three friends I learned were visiting in Key West and needed a new place. Their other place was full. So I got to stay and contribute some money towards their stay and enjoy another night. I could get a ride in their car up the keys the next night. I will miss Key West! Highs Beach is the closest beach. There is a deli to walk to, a butterfly museum, photo oops at the southernmost marker and many little shops and restaurants and bars. Can't wait to go back! Full Moon party is nearby and you can walk or bike there. The Salute restaurant is also close for Sunset dining.

This may be the cheapest place to stay in town, but that doesn't always mean best value. I would bite the bullet and stay somewhere nicer. Staying here was a definite downer to my trip. Maybe the single rooms are better, but I would avoid staying in the dorm-style rooms. The dorm-style rooms feature 2 twin bunk beds made from DIY metal poles and wooden planks. They even still have the stickers on the pieces. The workmanship is equivalent to a high schooler rushing to complete a semester project in their woodshop class. One of the planks popped out on me when I tried to climb to the top bunk. That's F- work right there. Had I not been somewhat stable, I could have easily fallen and hurt myself. VERY DANGEROUS. The 4 people to a room share a bathroom with another connecting room, meaning 8 people share one bathroom and shower. Yikes. The A/C is mediocre. It is really more like a whirring motor that is constantly running than it is an A/C unit. Also, I was not able to connect to the wifi. Another guest in my room also had trouble connecting. Boo. It is also worth noting that the parking may not be as convenient as others have mentioned. It is a ways away from downtown, meaning you'd have to walk around a mile there, or pay for parking downtown (which is $3+ an hour). However, it is close to 2 of the beaches, so you could feasibly walk to those. But that does not make staying here worth it.

So I was traveling by myself on a road trip I decided to go all the way down to Key West it's a nice hotel I ended up doing the hostel room which I had absolutely no issues with except that and it was also during the heat Dome stuff going on so it was just extremely hot down there at the time but they have window air conditioners those are set to 71°. But the window isn't actually closed completely like to left to the right of the air conditioner is wide open for the hot air to flow in and out simple things like that could be fixed with a can of foam insulation sprayed in there it expands fills in the Gap done it can be easily removed with a scraper if you want to remove air conditioners change them whatever and the windows aren't full pain there like vent windows that are closed but there's still never completely closed so putting up a piece of plexiglass to cover them would add a little bit more insulation value to help keep the room cooler cuz while it's set to 71 I really don't think it really was down to 71 for very long or very often just my personal opinion bathroom was nice and clean for the most part could have used a table or something the sink is exceptionally small which would be fine but there's nowhere to put your your razor or shaving cream or toiletries and all I only shelf in there is dedicated to the soap that they provide also would be nice to have some hooks on the wall so that if you're changing you can hang your clothes up while you're changing. The staff was very helpful very friendly I'm pretty knowledgeable of the area to answer any questions that you had really my only real complaints were simply the fact that the rooms were kind of warm especially during an exceptionally hot. I actually got sick after from the heat after a day of riding an electric bike around town to check out some sites and some restaurants and all after dropping the bike off from to the rental place I walked the 10 minutes back and the heat got to me on the during that 10 minute walk it was just quite a bit of heat so that kind of that definitely affected my stay and my enjoyment of my time there also just a thought I don't know if it would be worthwhile to you or not but keeping a couple jugs of water in your freezers might help your freezer / refrigerator from working quite as hard being that it's outside also if you have a couple bottles of water and it could just be refilled soda bottles it doesn't have to be new fresh clean water bottles but people like me that are using a cooler being able to swap those bottles out and place of ice would be nice I personally tend to use bottles like that when possible instead of ice not always practical in a road trip but I do keep some bottles like that in my cooler then when I get to tell or something I put them in the freezer to freeze back up to using my cooler when I leave I don't know how many people you get through the use coolers but even if you don't get any just having a couple things of water in there like gallon jugs or whatever just to help hold the temperature in there a little bit longer I think you're unit would use less electricity...

At the start of my trip this would of been 5. I stayed 5 nights and it started off great. Good rooms ( I stayed in female dorm ) amazing location. Reasonably priced. Amazing facilities and amenities. Beautiful garden with kitchen and hammock and tables etc. Reasonably kept clean. House keeping in everyday. But I did get bed bug bites but I know this can happen sometimes. Maybe they could boil the sheets to prevent this happening. The reason I'm giving 3 and would not stay again is because of what happened on last night

They had a lovely garden which I used to like to stay in till the early morning. On the last night a couple had checked in. Clearly high on some drugs. ( Heroine or crack. This wasn't the soft drugs ) they was visibly tweaking and displaying signs of being off there face. Especially the guy.

They was accompanied by a member of the church who clearly was paying for the room. They possibly needed help getting clean. Which I totally get. But this is a vacation spot enjoyed my mostly young travelers. Not a rehab recovery spot. This may sound harsh but the events that followed shows why such people shouldn't be placed in destinations like this.

As the kind lady from the church left the couple. With a Bible and a speech about how Jesus loves them etc. The couple clearly mocked the kind lady as she walked off. Clearly exited they scored a free room paid for by the church. For however long.

During the night while I was trying to enjoy the garden. 3 separate shady characters all men. Came and went from the couples room. From 10pm till 4am. They was too clearly either dealers. Or just as High themselves. It just made me really uneasy and If it was just the couple genuinely needing a place to stay I would get it. But the fact that these other shady characters came and went when only residents are allowed in garden and ni guests after 9pm just made me feel unsafe and I definitely wouldn't of stayed another night.

The motel staff shouldn't allow this and ensure guests being checked in to the rooms especially by chairtys and organisations that help drug users shouldn't be allowed to stay. I know it sounds harsh. But the people this couple had coming and going are a prime reason why. This is a vacation spot. Not a recovery home. I want to enjoy my vacation not be scared at a crack head standing over me in the hammock that isn't even a paid guest but rather some one who's just shot up with someone that stays here. The motel have no control over what people do in their rooms. But they should be able to put the pieces together when they see a church chairty paying for a room of a couple that are clearly high on crack and put the pieces together. And not allow them to stay. Not to mention they should of clocked all the shady characters coming in and out that wasn't guests of hotels but guests...
