This is not a four-star hotel, and it doesn’t have any of the standards of a chain. It’s a two-star hotel with a very good breakfast. From the moment we entered the small lobby cleanliness seemed an issue and once we got to the rooms it got worse. The bathtub drain was clogged, the ac controls in the room is just an on or off switch (we were freezing) so one cannot set the temperature. The doors are composite wood and swollen from humidity. There are no cabinets and the towel handle was missing. We were switched to another room that was a bit less claustrophobic and asked the maid to give the floor an extra mopping, which she did. The nespresso machine was missing in the first room and we then found out it wasn’t complementary. One of the pods was in fact used and just left in the box. No towel hooks in the bathroom. The elevators are close to the doors so we woke up all night with guests returning to their rooms. Non-existent sound-proofing. There is a fake leather foot rest in the rooms that had foot prints. My husband and I used to stay in Hotel Plaza Francia before the Braun family and Esplendor took over, although outdated it was clean and unpretentious. At checkout, they miscalculated the total because we paid cash and we were not given a list of itemised charges. We had to request it several times. Shame this hotel went so downhill it has a very...
Read moreHORRIBLE. If I could give it zero stars I would. My husband and I stayed at the property for the first part of our honeymoon. Check in felt like a youth hostel--they basically throw a key at you and that's all. The property bills itself as four star and claims to have air conditioning. On our first day, we went to the front desk because our room was very hot and the air wasn't working. We were informed by the same surly gentlemen who checked us in that the air in the building was off. This was a lie as the air was on in the lobby. It was in the 70's with 95% humidity when we were there and there is a public health issue with mosquitos carrying dengue yet we were forced to sleep with the windows open (which really didn't help cool down the room). We stayed for two nights and by the time we left, we were exhausted from not sleeping given the heat and I had mosquito bites all over my body, including my face. When we checked out, talk about insult to injury--we were charged because we used a threadbare washcloth to clean up a little wine we spilled. Never in all my years of travel have I encountered that. Now, the hotel is lying to our travel agent and saying we never raised any issue about the temperature of the room until check...
Read moreFirst this is a Wyndham franchise property. Very bad management. I had many issues with the room. The AC was turned off by the management. My girlfriend and I burned up all week. No explanation and no repairs. The construction noise and having to keep the window open was terrible. The shower faucet leaked and water ran on the floor. The breakfast wasnt that good. Basically ate ham sandwiches each morning. All items in the room were extra in cost. The maid tried to charges us for water bottles we didn't drink. A nespresso pod is about $1.20 US. There's not enough 110v outlets. Very small closets and no drawers for clothes. The elevators is for very small people. Wyndham headquarters didn't want to take any responsibility. The lobby is small and doubles as the kitchen. There are much better places around the area. Very disappointed that Wyndham corporate washed their hands of the issues. Don't be fooled...
