This may have been my favorite hotel of our 6 week trip. We ended up at Central Hotel after cancelling a reservation at the Radisson Blu (too far from everything), and then committing to a one night stay at the Holiday Inn (known brand, price point too high for what they offered.) The Central Hotel staff were amazing, allowing us to walk in off the street and take a look at one of the rooms before we committed to the stay.
The hotel definitely has the feel of a luxury boutique hotel. On offer are meals, spa services, a pool, saunas, etc. The decor tells you that you are not in a generic hotel property; you're in a carefully curated luxury environment with calming music, pleasant scents, soundproofing, etc.
Shopping, services, parks and attractions are just outside the front door. Literally next door there is a compact but very thoroughly outfitted grocery, and a 2 minute walk will take you to a gourmet grocery diagonally across the street. There is a park in almost every direction. Restaurants are plentiful and varied, and should you be in need of beauty services there was a barber across the street and a nail salon a few steps away. As to the touristic activities, Republic Square (including the Government Houe, History museum, National Gallery and the dancing fountains) is about a 5 minute stroll away.
The room we stayed in was a King Suite. It was attractive, spacious, comfortable and quiet. We slept entirely undisturbed, never hearing anyone in the hallways or outside of the hotel.
Pro tip: the hotel entry is via the outdoor dining patio, via a ramp and stairs to the...

Read moreI was really not satisfied with my stay at Central Hotel Yerevan. Many booking sites mention that the hotel has a spa, but it’s not clearly stated that access to the spa requires an extra payment. This was very disappointing and felt misleading.||The room also had major issues: it was impossible to make it dark because the curtains do not block out light at all, which made it difficult to get proper rest.||On top of that, the front desk staff were not flexible or helpful with requests, which added to the negative experience.||Overall, I was very disappointed with this hotel and would not...
