I had a horrible experience at National Hotel and have never been treated with such disrespect, in my many decades of travel. I had a booking last week and arrived in the middle of the night, very tired and looking forward to a few hours of rest before a full work day. I had informed the hotel by email the day before of my late arrival. However when I checked in I learned that they CANCELLED my room booking! The only available rooms were a corner studio and a presidential suite, both of which had significantly higher rates than the one I booked. They refused to honor the rate I booked despite the fault lying with them. As it was the middle of the night I had no choice but to stay in one of the more expensive rooms, with the promise that the error would be sorted with the manager the next morning - since the night clerk had no power to make these decisions.

Unfortunately the next morning I was only offered a small discount on the higher rate - still significantly higher than the rate I booked. The same clerk was at the desk and did not allow me to speak directly to the manager on the phone. I decided to check out and move to the Yerevan Place Hotel (highly recommended) at which point the National tried to claim that I owed an ADDITIONAL second night due to "late cancellation." I was shocked at the audacity and greed, and the fact that they were punishing me for THEIR mistake. I refused and paid the one night and gladly left. But I need to warn future travelers that this hotel does not care about customer service and does not only not correct their mistakes, but tries to make the client pay for them. They had no excuse to cancel my original reservation and nearly left a tired traveller stranded without accommodation. There are many excellent hotel options in Yerevan so...

My wife and I liked the Hotel National Erevan very much. We stayed there for one night only, so we did not have time to appreciate all the services and facilities provided by the hotel. But nevertheless we had a very good impression of the hotel.|We arrived at National deep in the night. We were provided with a nice and big room. Since we were hungry, we asked for flatware, wine glasses and a corkscrew (and we had Chianti Riserva with us). An employee came right away, brought everything, and opened a bottle.| I can note that in the room and in the bathroom was a full and very good set of tea, coffee and cosmetics for a comfortable stay, everything and not to list. Breakfast was also very pleasant with its variety - there were European dishes and typical for Armenia appetizers and sweets. There was sparking wine, but we still enjoyed night Chianti. Waiters did their work very quickly, with respect and attention to all visitors.| To be honest, we had a short night's rest, so I asked for check-out not at 12, but at 13. The reception staff immediately agreed. We left our luggage and went for a walk around beautiful Yerevan. And when we came back, bellboy Davit helped us to get out of the situation with a taxi call, because the first taxidriver simply deceived us (about which a complaint was made to the taxi service).| In general - I recommend it. The hotel has a great central location, very responsive staff and delicious cuisine in the restaurant for breakfast. This is a five star hotel where every...

[updated] Music blasting until midnight: that’s the reality in this hotel. Staying on the second floor and my entire room is shaking and the furniture vibrating. Nuts. [end of update] This must be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. It is never a five star hotel, 2* possibly 3* at best. Service simply does not exist, customers do not matter. Staff is selectively helpful. There is no business center leading me to have to share confidential documents for printing with the front desk. - Breakfast is irritating, and not to the level one would expect for its star rating. Worst of all- there is a nightclub in the building blasting music throughout the building. It is simply outrageous and the hotel should be closed down just for that. - Some might not mind five minutes for each elevator ride to arrive, I do. Overall the worst experience I have ever had and most certainly in Yerevan. This is my sixth visit to the city. Do stay in “Western Branded” hotels if you want decent service and a good nights sleep. I wanted to give the “local” chains a try- my dumbest decision ever. I cannot add an audio file: if I could, you wouldn’t believe it.

Greetings everyone, The hotel location is the only good thing about this hotel, which is not even special to be honest. Service is nonexistent. Stuff not well prepared. Our room had a smell and they kept sending people to try and convince me that it is fine, but bathroom was literally leaking that caused a smell. Walls are also dirty and have cracks. It took me two times to personally go to reception to tell them to change, which they did after I showed pictures. Then they gave me a card for the new number which did not work and it took me another three times to get a key, another receptionist did not know how to switch rooms, which is crazy, so I had to wait another 20 minutes for another receptionist. This is not a five star hotel, try to avoid and go to another one. I normally stay in a different one, but decided to try this one as it was more expensive.

Rating based on expectations of a 5 star hotel. This hotel is more like a 3 star hotel with a fancy bell boy and an expensive restaurant. Restaurant and food is actually really nice. Rooms are pretty bad - heater connected with spliced wires, mold in the bathroom Room cleaning is sub-par - they didn’t take trash away nor replaced the water bottles consistently. Shower leaked on the floor with crooked floors. Pool is nice, although mold in bathroom and sauna. Service is nice, it’s nicer if you speak Russian, but ok for English speakers as well. This looks like a hotel geared at cheap russian speakers disguised as a 5 star hotel.
