Great location. Good height for views, not so much for convenience of walking.
Apartment 5 was very tired and lacked love. The owners (all apts are individually owned) have not kept up maintenance.
Air con not working efficiently (blowing warm air) in bed 2 and no fly screen so stuck with fan only and no ceiling light, only bedside lamps.
Aircon filter in bed 1 choked with dust (we vacuumed it but still didn’t improve) and faulty (only 1 fan speed and not cooling properly, ceiling fan had 2 speeds: flat out and fast. Felt like there was slab heating as distinct warm/cold parts on floor of main bedroom adding to heat issues. Fly screens missing missing in ensuite. Zip-together style king bed, so can’t get cosy in the middle as both sides well worn/saggy.
Range hood broken, no light/no fan. Lounge was very tired. Chairs in lounge have broken springs poking into the seat.
Numerous issues raised to management on second day (James) and after 5 more days, no sign of fixing and no further corro from...
Read moreSanja is the best. So warm and knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. She was kind enough to take the time to tell me about the birds of the local area, and her enthusiasm for the nature of the area is infectious. She also knows the area really well in terms of where to eat and what to do. The infinity pool is to die for - so tranquil and relaxing watching the world go by. There were lots of birds in the area including lorikeets, crows, swallows and cockatoos to watch while you are on the balcony or in the pool. The pool has different depths which is good for both strong swimmers and those who are happier in the shallows. There is also a warm outdoor spa which is great for aching limbs after all the walking, swimming and snorkelling you can do in the area. My one bedroom apartment was spacious and quiet. The shower over the bath would be a bit tricky for older or disabled people. The walk up the hill is STEEP. But a cab costs approximately $7 from the taxi rank at the main...
Read moreJust stayed 8 nights there. My fault I should have done my research better as it is up a very very steep hill. Taxis call it the $7 hill ride. The affinity pool is beautiful with the view but for us it was too cold to go in. The spa was heated and beautiful. Didn't like the set up of the shower over the bath as it was quite high to step out of. Facilities in the room were fantastic washing machine and dryer but felt the rest was outdated. Disappointed there were no brochures or suggestions to do. Just as well we did a Tuk Tuk tour as he told us about the shuttle bus free to go to Northerlies Beach Bar, you ring them and they pick you up and return to your resort for free. Didn't get told about joining Airlie Beach Hotel for free then ring them and their shuttle bus picks you up for free and takes you back to...
