I'm a bit unsure about how they call themselves 5-star, there's no on-site bar or restaurant and no room service. I couldn't even get someone to collect my bags from my room when the shuttle bus arrived. Service was not very good, the gardener swore at me and threatened to cut power to my room because I was listening to music on the balcony during the early-afternoon. My friends who stayed in the very top (and most expensive) room asked to delay their turn-over service by a day as they were unwell on the day and they never returned to clean the room. Beautiful views and very close to town (but very quiet), an absolute workout to get to and from but the cabs are happy enough to run you up for about $5. I probably won't stay again, but was a mostly enjoyable stay but not worth what they charged. It's also a bit rude, for the amount they charge, they cut the power to the spa at night. I was looking forward to having a spa after getting back from the bars.

What a view!! First time staying at Airlie and so impressed with our apartment. We stayed in a 2 bdrm penthouse, paid 3 nights and 4th night was free. Apartment is big with rooms at opposite ends. Well appointed, big comfy beds and lots of space to relax. The deck was a great entertainer. Outdoor dining options, lounge and tall tables and stools for taking in the amazing view. The jacuzzi is a great touch, with superb views. Really helpful info provided by reception and all tour bookings could be made. Recommend for a special occasion. We loved being here, don’t be turned off by the steep hill. The views are totally worth it. Only call out is that it’s not accessible for people with mobility issues, stairs and no lift. We will definitely love to stay here again.

Spent four nights in a sub-penthouse this week, a gorgeous and well-appointed suite that has magnificent views over Airlie Beach. Room was clean, had a small 'welcome pack' in the fridge, and the air conditioning and jacuzzi were cranked up and ready to go when we arrived. It's only 2 minutes to a supermarket (if you like to self-cater) and about the same into the strip, and as tour operators can pick you up at the door everything's close. Reception staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Only small negative was that the lock from the second bedroom out to the jacuzzi deck didn't work, but we noted it down for housekeeping (who we're positive will fix it). Perfect location, and we'll be back.

Beautiful views, outdated apartment for its price, disappointing caretakers. I know this will come across judgemental, but I'm going to call it as I saw it. We we're greeted by the classic "Karen", type and her side kick "old mate". Our first impression was about getting in line as guests with their expectations. After checking in, we were driven up the steep hill to our room. Old mate was keen to brag about how he recently threw out guests for having glass around the pool and warned us that it would also be our fate if we we're to break such rules.. I immediately caught the vibe and knew we would have to be on our best behaviour while staying at The Pinnacles.

There was no other interaction from them for the following 4 days we stayed, not even a friendly "good morning". However there were two beers left in the fridge and some snacks on arrival which I'll pay credit to.

On check out, we were running a little behind, and at 10:30am received a visit from old mate who didnt knock, but just opens the door, barging into the hotel room telling my partner who was getting ready (luckily already clothed), that we were late, and that check in was at 10am and he would come back soon to make sure we were out.. Unfortunately I was showering at the time, and wasn't aware he barged in unannounced until we had left the hotel, a situation I would have confronted much differently.

I am writing this review to warn other guests of the type of behaviour to expect here from The Pinnacles caretakers. I have read the reviews and also the replies to the reviews, and will expect the same face saving response. While there is potential here to create a friendly and welcoming experience for your guests, your approach and energy requires you to clean...

Absolutely fantastic accommodation.  Outstanding Apartment Number 26! Incredible view of the marina from the extra large balcony, which includes a large dining table for 8, and large sun bed for two.

This  apartment is a 2-bed superior room, with 2 beds and 2 bathrooms. Each bathroom has a bath.

Main bed room has a bathroom with a large bath, a separate stand-alone shower, a separate toilet, and 2 sinks.

The main bedroom has an extraordinary large walk-in wardrobe equipped with excellent storage and wooden hangers.

The main bed was very comfortable with views of the marina, sunsets, and Sunrise views!

The large kitchen is well equipped for utensils for preparing,  cooking, and plating food.

There is a Nescafe coffee machine, dishwasher,  induction stove, smeg oven, large 2 door fridge with freezer, refrigerator, plumbed to dispense chilled water

There is a large laundry with a washing machine and dryer, clothes line, and cleaning utensils.

The main living area has a large leather sofa, which is incredibly comfortable.

TV has Foxtel platinum.

Sitting on the balcony early morning and evening,  viewing the birds, odd sting ray, turtles  boats, planes, helicopters, but also the silence first thing in the morning is just food for the soul.

This has to be experienced.  The best accommodation we ever had to joy to be in. If, or when we return to Airlie Beach, we would not stay anywhere else.

Also, the location is just a 12 minute walk to the nearest cafes and bars

Thank you, Paul and Fran, for your 5 star...

We had the most amazing stay at Pinnacles Resort for our honeymoon in March. The service was fantastic, the view was beyond incredible, and for the price, you get SO much more space in the apartment than you would in one of the resorts or hotels closer to the water. We stayed for 9 nights and couldn't fault the experience. Spending time in Airlie Beach at the tail end of wet season, we did have some rain, but the spaciousness and comfort of the apartment meant we never felt closed in or claustrophobic when staying indoors. We met people on our travels that were staying at Hamilton Island, but we definitely preferred Airlie Beach for having considerably more options for food, entertainment, and activities, and Airlie was also the perfect base for plenty of tours departing from the marinas.

The proximity to the main street was perfect as well - walkable and close without being right in town. Yes, the road up to reception is steep, and the route to your room is even steeper. But taxis are easily obtained from anywhere, many tours and large venues offer courtesy buses, and if you are of average fitness and without an injury, you won't find the hike too much of an issue - it even becomes pretty satisfying to say how many times you climbed it over the course of your stay! I have a chronic illness and still managed it multiple times.

Thank you so much to Pinnacles Resort for being the perfect base for our jam-packed honeymoon. We loved our stay and will definitely...
