Travelled to CBCR and again just got back from a Christmas stay. I have to say Hawaiian Group, your staff are gold - truly. Always friendly and helpful! Always happy :) Was a great experience both times we’ve visited 2019 and just now in 2022. My daughter is a wheelchair user and the resort is wheelchair friendly with great mobility accessible rooms on request. Makes our stay easier and comfortable! It is a large resort so if you do have mobility issues, I’d consider bringing or hiring - if that’s a thing in Broome, a wheelchair or other mobility equipment to assist you walking. The resort is just beautiful. It has wild animals through the resort which is just lovely to see. They have wallabies and different lizards - both who are more scared of you then you are of them. I did miss seeing the monitor lizard this trip. I did see this lizard in 2019. Gorgeous! Bats at night are loud but can give you a laugh with their sounds :) The pool is gorgeous! When the club is busy there isn’t enough seating but the club have done well to provide as much seating as possible. Lovely lounges and lovely huts to lay on. Shade is a premium here as there are some lounges and huts in the sun. The sun is strong for me as I’m a night shifter so I burnt easily but taking a good look around, so was everyone else. Even if in the shade - I got crispy. I’d suggest wearing long sleeved shirt and a hat even in the pool. The sunscreen or suncream just comes off as your sweating hard. It’s warm spot but it’s lovely! Staff are quick to provide service either pool side or at the bar and even when slammed they deliver quite quickly :) amazing staff as I said. I found some food great some wasn’t to my taste. Satay sticks are awesome! Breakfast lunch or dinner is amazing at Sunset Bar & Grill. The staff are lovely and truly make you comfortable and allow you to indulge :) Breakfast at Sunset Bar & Grill is lovely and changed up daily which is great if your staying a few nights and it’s Buffett! Dinner is set menu or known as Ɓ la carte. The steaks were amazing and thoroughly enjoyed at our table :) the food is cooked well so our thanks to staff for service as well as the Chef’s as wow amazing! We tried Cichetti Club in 2019 for dinner. Also serves breakfast and lunch - haven’t tried. We had a great time here and food was also great when we went for dinner. I was hoping to come back this visit but plans change and we visited over public holidays also. The rooms we were in - Bougainvillea Wing. We had these lovely balconies where it can over look Cable Beach. Our balcony over looked a grassed area facing cable beach. The wallabies were always out. It was magical. The room had a king bed which was lovely and fine. I have a back injury and I didn’t enjoy it much but this is much of my life these days. Not the resorts fault. The bathroom had a wardrobe with plenty of storage. There was a rainfall like shower head and the water was hot quick! Any issues someone came and sorted out quickly. There was shelving for makeup or anything you want, and then a lovely basin. Yes there are these very very tiny ants which are harmless. I think they come for the water. But they just run around and don’t do much. But lovely large room. Rooms are air conditioned and have a fan which is great for pushing the aircon down onto you when in bed. On checkout we were able to use the pool till checkout, as our flight was later then the 10am checkout. There was also an option to use a change room to shower. Change rooms had air conditioning, which made getting changed easier. The one thing I didn’t know. Luggage will be picked up. I really wish I knew this as we don’t travel light. 2019 I wasn’t aware and even this time I wasn’t aware. When my sister came up and said someone had come to pick up luggage. I thought we had to take our own stuff up. We had a great time and will likely be back :)

What can I say, but absolutely 5 stars all round. My husband and I enjoyed five luxurious nights at Cable Beach Club Resort. From checkin to checkout was faultless. Extremely friendly and very helpful staff, namely Bree (reception), Vesh and Naomi (Club Lounge) contributed to our awesome and memorable stay. The Club Lounge Experience ($100 per day) is a must to add onto your booking ~ enjoying afternoon canapes (3:30-5pm), signature cocktails, wine, spirits and beer in the sleek Club Lounge along with a scrumptious buffet breakfast each morning at the Sunset Bar and Grill. Highly recommend this option if available. The McAlpine Villa is truly worth the extra money where you will be pampered with extras such as private airport transfers, porter service, welcome champagne, complimentary mini bar (replenished daily), 1.5m deep plunge pool, mini kitchen with cooking facilities incl coffee pod machine, huge airconditioned bathroom with 2 vanities and deep spa bath, 2 living rooms, 3 TVs, massive bedroom with King size bed and WIR. Did I mention that there were 4 aircons in the villa !!! as a girl that loves her a/c's, this was just the bomb ! Book now, you won't regret it ......

nice than i had expected, very clean, great to have an adults pool, although we did seem to have picked a time with an influx of fifo's who did seem to enjoy a few too many drinks. the room was clean, bed was hard, not firm. hard. and old. aircond struggled on the last day when we passed 40 degrees. breakfast was ok, ive had better, and ive had worse. Maitre d' at dinner seemed to make things far more difficult than they needed to be to justify his job. we had to sit one table over to be served at the front bar because the table we were going to sit at had a different menu. the place was empty and the order from the bar got cooked in the same kitchen. he attempted to make himself look busy doing nothing the rest of time we ate. im also left wondering why the place has no solar power, so much empty roof space, so many air conditioners, so much sun, and not a panel in site. i guess all the profit goes to the owners Cayman Islands account.

Oh dear, where do I start?

I should start with the few positives. Firstly there’s free wifi and the staff are great and know their jobs. But I suppose you’d expect that for a resort charging $700/ night which is about the same price you’d pay to stay at one of the most iconic hotels in the world (Marina Bay Sands) in one of the most expensive cities in the world (Singapore). Unfortunately that’s where the similarities end.

Charged $5 / per person for airport pickup so you kinda know where this review is headed. Profit above nuisance value at every step of the way.

The rooms are constructed in cheaply built wooden buildings that allow exterior noise to penetrate like a hot knife through cold butter. It was built in 1988 so I guess that’s the standard.

We repeatedly had to complain about noise from the nearby restaurant and bar (due to outdoor speakers blasting music until 10pm). Going on holiday to be constantly harassed by doof doof noise pollution in the evening when all you want to do is relax is just outrageous. Especially when you’re paying $700/ night for the privilege. Clearly the resort cares little about your sanity once you’re already checked in. I note other reviews complaining about the same topic too. DO NOT STAY BEACH SIDE (Bogainvillia Block). For completeness I must say we received a $200 credit for this as compensation and reassurance that this would not continue. Unfortunately this continued every night. Not at all pleasant or relaxing.

None of the rooms have any view to speak of or privacy and the density of the accommodation blocks means you basically feel like you’re holidaying in a glorified caravan park.

The resort is separated from the beach buy the main car access onto Cable Beach so traffic noise is also a consideration when the locals come out to play.

Our room had cracked shower tiles and a bathroom door that was stuck to the point it was impossible to open and close. Clearly maintenance is not a priority.

Housekeeping was banging on our door at 9am like a drunken sailor on a 4 am booty call. After calling out that the room was occupied it stopped. But we then retuned at 6pm to discover our room hadn’t been made up ! Another complaint was warranted.

Breakfast is NOT included for $700/ night and if you want to pay for it, it’s $40 / head !

The restaurants are expensive. Worse still, after you’re seated you’re told it’s a fixed price $100/ head for 2 courses, plus drinks of course ! $36 fish and chips pool side and $25 cocktails.

We ordered pizza one night after a long day on an external excursion and even that was a less than pleasant experience. You might expect the price to be high and it was. $28 for a margarita pizza. But when we asked if it was possible to add salami the answer was a firm no. Asked why, the answer was because they didnt know how to charge more for this ! I mean it’s already a $28 pizza for ….. sake. Do you really need to charge more for a few slices of salami ???????? Profit first was omnipresent with everything.

And we flew down from Singapore. There’s no way Asian based tourists will fork out this sort of money for this sort of experience. I’d never stay here again and cannot think of a good reason to recommend it to anyone else. Honestly I’d choose another accommodation option if I came back to Broome.

In summary this resort is not managed by an international brand like Four Seasons and I’d suggest there’s a reason why. This means you’re not getting that sort of experience for the same sort of price point.

Such a shame because I remember when this place first opened 30 plus years ago (1988) and it’s been on my bucket...

We really enjoyed our stay here and we had a great time. However I feel that we were probably staying too long (6 nights) which means there were more chances for things to go wrong. The checkout process was the real shocker and our suitcases were not even taken with the shuttle bus to the airport when departing (!!!)

Positives

Most of the staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. Special shout out to both the check-in staff and the tour desk who really went above and beyond to help us, together with the sense or humour it was a good start.

Room was clean and tidy and spacious. Serviced with new towels and amenities everyday (even though we did not leave them on the floor).

The resort is relaxing and well-equipped. Swimming pool (although the adult only ocean pool was closed), mini golf, tennis, gym and kids activities (school holidays only) were all included in room rates.

Food options were great and reasonably priced. Coming from Sydney I didn't think it was overpriced like many commented.

Negatives

We ordered a cake $80 for birthday. Instructed to have it delivered at a particular time. It came too early (no one was ready) and it was basically inedible. Dry, crumbly mud cake which tasted like a flour-free cake (we didn't order fluten free) and decorative biscuits were soggy. Ultimately we were not charged for this cake (took 2 complaints) however the birthday surprise was ruined.

Upon check-out I realised we were charged two lots of airport shuttle fees for arrival (taken off after pointed this out) and two lots of dinner for a particular night (taken off after pointed this out). Yes mistakes can happen but I wonder how often it happens if there were 2 mistakes on my (one) bill. I was diligent to check everything but not everyone would.

It would have been 3-4 stars at this point, however the last thing that killed the experience was the airport shuttle back to the airport. We have this booked when booking the hotel (with email confirmation), confirmed with the reception the night before departure (was told to leave suitcases in the room at 8am and come down for shuttle at 9am), triple confirmed at the time of check out at 7.40am (told the reception that our suitcases were still in the room and we were taking the 9am shuttle). When it's 9am the shuttle was here but our suitcases were not! Luckily we double checked before going to the aiport. Someone dropped the ball and did not pick up our suitcases. We had to wait for the staff to collect our suitcases first and then drive us to the aiport separately 20 minutes later. Luckily we did not miss our flight but it was a very stressful morning.

Overall we did really enjoyed the room and the facilities however just too many hiccups which was a huge led-down to an otherwise...
