On the 26th January 2017, when we arrived there after a long drive in the hope of having something to eat and relax, the customer service was something to be desired. When asked about the restaurant or lounge/bar, it was a flat - No, we don't do that and was told about where we could drive to in finding a meal. The room itself was dark and had trouble finding light switches, not to forget the muldy shower ceiling. We stayed only one night and arrived home only to find that our bodies had been infested with bed bugs and scabies. This was identified after feeling itchy with red spots all over our body and the GP telling us it was scabies. How shocked were we to find this in a place that was meant to be cheap (wasn't that inexpensive) and carrying a 3 star rating. We have stayed in many places all over the world and this is the FIRST time we've felt so dirty and disgusted in taking parasites home. We would NEVER recommend or go back there again and we would say everyone steer clear of this place if you don't want to take any passengers home with you. This is appalling that they are still in business. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day in this place - Please Note, this is not second hand news or hearsay as TripAdvisor would think, this is actually happened with...
Read moreI stayed at this establishment on the night of Wednesday, 16th March, as a single traveler e route to Melbourne. For some reason, accommodation in the Newell Highway towns is at a premium just now and the Spa Village Tavern Inn was the only place I could get late in the day. Unfortunately, the only room was a âFamily Roomâ, at $199 for the night. It wouldn't have been too bad if to a likewise standard for a travelling motel, however, âSpartanâ would be an understatement! All very basic and no information as to how things worked, necessitating 2 visits to Reception, on late arrival. One was that I couldn5 locate the A/c control, so after summoning the receptionist, who didnât know where it would be, it was found on the end of a wall at about 2metres from the floor. Beds on rollers are no good if you wish to sit up and the base isnât attached to the wall bed head. Mini âfridge just sitting on the floor next to a cupboard with no handles to either the drawer or doors. Just 2 chairs for a âFamily Roomâ, of 1xDouble + 2xSingle beds - where are the other two people in the âfamilyâ are supposed to sit - and all for just under $200 for the night. ...
Read moreOur second time staying here as a family of 5. Lots of room but getting old and grubby in family room we stay in. Didn't like this time around that we couldn't keep our door open due to constant smokers right outside our area. Fantastic with breakfast included. Lots of choices for our fussy eaters. Would recommend getting safer high chairs and cleaning them. One fell apart when we picked it up. One didn't have a safety belt. The big bed in our room has a spring sticking out of it. Pretty uncomfortable. Also bed set up and tv a bit uncomfortable needs to be rearranged. Good for a quick stay. Plenty of hot water and shampoo etc all included. Boys love going in the pool and spa. Service from staff was good. Parking near rooms super handy as is...
