I dont have any comparison to another motel in Moree. My husband & I were passing through on our roadtrip around this part of the country. Pros: A/C worked beautifully! The bathroom was updated and spacious. The bed seemed clean & it was fairly comfortable for mt husband & I. Cons: the rooms need attention. The carpets are so old & gross. The bugs were too much for me. The ants running down the corner of the wall were gross. The spiders & bugs on the high parts of the ceiling. The dead bugs around the night stands and baseboards. Overall, wouldn't recommend- but not sure there is anything much better in Moree. Especially not at this price point.

We arrived 10 mins early and were promptly told by the smoking staff they don't open until 2pm. Room smelled like public toilet cleaner. The 2nd bed in the room has stained linen and the mattress had two large indentations, one at the shoulder and one at the hip. The mattress also overhangs the base by several inches. The kitchenette is tired with stale tea bags and two sugars. I'm not sure where the renovated rooms are. When I asked for a second blanket, the person behind the reception desk snorted with laughter and gave me a clean, but torn blanket. Nowhere to sit outside.

Once you’re in, you’re locked in — literally. After 9 PM, they close the doors and you can’t go out. You’re paying for a place where you don’t even have the freedom to leave at night if you need to. It’s exactly as it sounds: you have to call the woman in charge, and she’ll come open the door — but until then, you’re stuck. And also you feel annoying waking her up. But imagine having an emergency. We found it absolutely crazy. At 9 PM we were already locked inside and couldn’t go anywhere. Just unacceptable.

On the 26th January 2017, when we arrived there after a long drive in the hope of having something to eat and relax, the customer service was something to be desired. When asked about the restaurant or lounge/bar, it was a flat - No, we don't do that and was told about where we could drive to in finding a meal. The room itself was dark and had trouble finding light switches, not to forget the muldy shower ceiling. We stayed only one night and arrived home only to find that our bodies had been infested with bed bugs and scabies. This was identified after feeling itchy with red spots all over our body and the GP telling us it was scabies. How shocked were we to find this in a place that was meant to be cheap (wasn't that inexpensive) and carrying a 3 star rating. We have stayed in many places all over the world and this is the FIRST time we've felt so dirty and disgusted in taking parasites home. We would NEVER recommend or go back there again and we would say everyone steer clear of this place if you don't want to take any passengers home with you. This is appalling that they are still in business. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day in this place - Please Note, this is not second hand news or hearsay as TripAdvisor would think, this is actually happened with...

I stayed at this establishment on the night of Wednesday, 16th March, as a single traveler e route to Melbourne. For some reason, accommodation in the Newell Highway towns is at a premium just now and the Spa Village Tavern Inn was the only place I could get late in the day. Unfortunately, the only room was a “Family Room”, at $199 for the night. It wouldn't have been too bad if to a likewise standard for a travelling motel, however, “Spartan” would be an understatement! All very basic and no information as to how things worked, necessitating 2 visits to Reception, on late arrival. One was that I couldn5 locate the A/c control, so after summoning the receptionist, who didn’t know where it would be, it was found on the end of a wall at about 2metres from the floor. Beds on rollers are no good if you wish to sit up and the base isn’t attached to the wall bed head. Mini ‘fridge just sitting on the floor next to a cupboard with no handles to either the drawer or doors. Just 2 chairs for a “Family Room”, of 1xDouble + 2xSingle beds - where are the other two people in the “family” are supposed to sit - and all for just under $200 for the night. ...

Our second time staying here as a family of 5. Lots of room but getting old and grubby in family room we stay in. Didn't like this time around that we couldn't keep our door open due to constant smokers right outside our area. Fantastic with breakfast included. Lots of choices for our fussy eaters. Would recommend getting safer high chairs and cleaning them. One fell apart when we picked it up. One didn't have a safety belt. The big bed in our room has a spring sticking out of it. Pretty uncomfortable. Also bed set up and tv a bit uncomfortable needs to be rearranged. Good for a quick stay. Plenty of hot water and shampoo etc all included. Boys love going in the pool and spa. Service from staff was good. Parking near rooms super handy as is...
