Haus Bergland — Hotel in Sankt Gilgen

Plus - Terrific location. Beautiful surroundings and ambience. Excellent facilities that one can hope for in a self-catering holiday. Very clean and tidy. The Schafberg bahnhof is just a 10 minute walk from the property but the train line runs just outside the house and is a terrific sight. Minus - The toilet and the bathrooms were separate which in itself isn’t bad but there is no wash basin in the toilet. To make matters worse, there is no door to the bathroom and therefore it was pretty embarrassing. The property claims to be 2 mins walk to the lake - but make it 20 minutes - am sure it cannot be the oversight on the part of the owner to provide misleading information but could have been a typo. There was the tax amount that was levied for €1.90 per person per night when we were there, which was not mentioned in the booking page. The other guests downstairs were incessant smokers, therefore it was quite difficult to keep the windows open without being engulfed in cigarette smoke Nice to have - there could have also been a washer/dryer in the property. Some instructions on where the supermarkets are, information on what the attractions in and around the region are could have...

Viel versprochen... wenig gehalten. Wir waren vom 28.7.-10.8.2020 dort. Bei der Buchung hatte meine Frau extra gesagt, das sie Hobbyköchin ist und einen richtigen Herd und Küche braucht. Laut Reklame soll ja die Küche voll ausgerüstet sein... Soll... Wir Bekamen Wohnung 2 in der 1. Etage quasi „ zugewiesen“. Trotz Nachfrage bekamen wir keine Fotos zu genau dieser Wohnung. Die Wohnung ist unmöglich! Eine winzige Küche mit Garderobe invlusive , das alle Mäntel nach Essen riechen. Kein Abstellplatz für Lebensmittel. Eine Küchenzeile von 1.50 m Länge mit einem 2-Platten-Herd und einer Minispüle ohne Abtropfbrett. Keine Schälmesser , keine Saftpresse, kein Pürierstab , kein Mixer, wenig billiges Besteck.Alles dunkel , kein Fenster, nur Tür zum Balkon. Die Betten durchgelegen. Die Toilette quasi IM Schlafzimmer und nur 1 qm gross. Nur durch eine Stufe und eine knapp 60 cm breite Tür abgetrennt. Winzige Dusche und Mini- Waschbecken offen ! im Schlafzimmer integriert über eine Stufe und Öffnungsbreite von 47 cm als Türöffnung ! Hier muss man gaaaaaaanz schlank sein ! Das einzige was ging war das Wohnzimmer. Bei den Bewerbungsfotos auf der Homepage macht Herr Jandl das sehr schön falsch...Er nimmt aus jeder Wohnung die beste Ansicht. Man sieht also nicht eine Wohnung.... sondern immer nur das Beste aus verschiedenen Wohnung! Eine angepriesene Liegewiese gibt es auch nicht. Die verrottete Rasenfläche neben dem Haus wurde nach meiner Reklamation dann gemäht und 2 Liegen und 1 Schirm bestückt. Angeblich wollte er diese Angabe schon lange aus dem Angebot entfernen.... !!!!! Einen eigenen Badestrand gibt es NICHT! Herr Jandl hat Plätze an einem öffentlichen Strandteil gemietet , wo aber Hunde NICHT mit dürfen . Auch der Keller , wo die Waschmaschine steht ist alt. Alles alt. Das uralte Haus ist das Elternhaus von Herrn Jandl, was er notdürftig zur Vermietung renoviert hat... Das Ganze ist so , wie der ganze Ort: alt und abgewirtschafftet ! Wir werden dort nicht wieder hinfahren. Ein paar km weiter liegt Mondsee .... viel schöner...

Were in app 4. Very nice view from terasse, great for kids because the accomodation is next to the Bergbahn (local attraction) so they can watch the train 👀😃. Beach is 6 min walking down the hill and it is free (you get the ticket in Haus Bergland). Dogs are allowed for a fee. I highly recommend. The owner speaks...
