I spent two nights here with my partner for our anniversary and we were laughing at how almost provocatively amazing this entire experience was.

We had the lake view room. It was spotless and spacious. There was also a welcome gift of sparkling wine; a coffee machine and a lot of other great amenities. There was also a balcony overlooking the sunbed area of the hotel and with a perfect view of the light show (see video and let’s be honest how cool is that??).

The breakfast buffet was so good that you will wake up happy knowing that you will be there in a couple of minutes after getting out of bed. There was a great selection of cheeses, bread, dips and also freshly cut prosciutto. For the drinking options there was at least 10 different options of tea to choose from. Four coffee machines. Sparkling wine. Many different kinds of juices and even a juicer with fresh apples carrots and pears next to it.

Regarding the spa area it was very clean and you have a nice selection of relaxation options to choose from. You have a sauna, a soft sauna (a bit lower in temperature), a caldarium, a massage room and even an indoor pool leading outside next door.

The entire resort just feels out of this world. You really do feel like you are on vacation. It is so quiet and relaxing everywhere. The views of the lake and the mountains are spectacular. The staff is helpful and very friendly. It is just perfect and we will be there...

We booked a studio and found out at the location that this was without air-conditioning. Please be aware before you book what room you have - the studios have an impressive glass cube as an entrance which of course also functions as a hot house, therefore in hot weather these rooms THAT HAVE NO AIR-CONDITIONING should not be rented out without at least providing a mobile cooling solution. The management refused to give us an alternative room for the same (already steep) price. We would have had to pay an extra €100 for a room with air-conditioning. We ended up keeping the studio and slept with the front door open to try and create some draft. Yes, that happened in a four star hotel. Also, if you are vegan then the breakfast buffet is a joke. The only vegan option are some pre-packages fatty spreads. No fresh hummus or other fresh spreads. There were some plant based milks for muesli, but all the warm options were animal based. Please, there is no need to have milk or eggs in your pancakes. This is the 21st century, one might think that there is some drive to update food options to a more sustainable standard. Yes, tofu scramble is great for breakfast as well (same protein levels and nutritional value as eggs) and would show that Scalaria is an innovative business. Even the olives were filled with cheese. Why? There were raw vegetables, at least that, but one can do so much better. What a...

We checked in today (4/28), the general staff and the facilities are all fine, but the male receptionist was having an attitude.

We checked into our rooms at around 15:40, and then at around 16:30 me and my traveling partners who checked in another room decided that we were going to swap rooms. And then when I went down to the lobby to tell the male receptionist that we'd like to swap rooms and we'd also like to have an extra key card (each room comes with one card originally), the male receptionist was using an almost interrogating voice to ask me "Why are you swapping rooms by yourselves? You should inform us beforehand."

Now, I understand that for many different reasons that the names registered to the rooms should always be clear for the hotel, and that's exactly why I informed them. Although I couldn't speak German, I was being absolutely polite to the receptionist and staff during our previous brief conversations. And it's not like we took other empty rooms by ourselves or anything, we were just swapping rooms in-between the same traveling group, and all the rooms next to our two rooms belong to our own traveling companions, thus I don't see any necessity for the receptionist to put up such condescending attitude toward me. And I really hope his attitude wasn't based on the fact that we are...

Besides my warm home, this is the most beautiful and comfortable place I’ve ever stayed in. My wonderful hometown: Taiwan.🇹🇼

The location is excellent—right where you get on and off the bus, which made getting around very convenient. However, the 546 bus stop to Strobl isn’t clearly marked, so I recommend asking the staff for directions. The room was the smallest I stayed in during my two-week trip around Europe, yet it was also the most expensive—likely due to the lakefront location. Unfortunately, it felt significantly overpriced for what it offered. The shower setup was quite unusual, not really a proper enclosed space, and with the air conditioning on, it was uncomfortably chilly—definitely not the most comfortable experience. On a positive note, the staff were helpful and friendly. When we asked to borrow an umbrella, one of the staff members kindly found one for us. Breakfast was okay, nothing particularly memorable. Scalaria seemed like a design hotel, but the decor and artwork felt a bit dated.
