Genussschmied — Restaurant in St. Wolfgang im Salzkammergut

Not a good experience. Four of us ate there in late March. The flank steak was not bad but the other steaks lacked flavour. The fries were not homemade. The padron peppers were on the large side and not fully cooked. The mixed vegetables were mainly just peppers. The chocolate dessert was terrible. The so called lava cake was very heavy with no soft centre. It had the texture of a heavy dumpling. We could not eat it. When we complained to the, waitress she said ja, laughed and walked away. €9 for possibly the worst restaurant dessert I ever had. Better can be bought in frozen from Metro. Super tasty food, great ambience and decor, very cordial and professional staff. In the last 2 nights, we went twice! Ordered mainly vegetarian dishes - among everything we had, Quesadilla was probably one the best I’ve ever had, Patatas Bravas were done to perfection (just the right amount of charred/crisp) and Tacos were yum as well (with pickled red onions). They served dips with these 3 dishes which were so good that I ordered an extra taco just to try them again. Highly recommend this place.

P.S. - this place seemed like a blessing coz all places were shut on 25th and 26th night. Super glad...

They asked me to pay 3 euros for tap water (yes, tap water) because I didn’t order any other drinks. I actually ordered starter + main course but seems like that wasn’t enough. The waitress didn’t inform me of this charge upfront and was very rude, disrespectful and unprofessional.
