We had dinner at « Couvert » last evening and we had such a lovely time. The food was fabulous: the scallop carpaccio was flavorful, the perfect combination with the dill, peppercorns, and the sauce, equally appealing for the eyes. Then came the sweetbreads; the portion size was perfect when you arrive with an appetite after a day of walking through Brugge. The sauce… I insisted that my family at the table try it — it was delicious. My husband is a chef, so we do look for the hidden gems when traveling. Upon our return to Brugge, « Couvert » will definitely be on the top of my list. Wishing the owners all the success in the world, because their passion is transmitted through their food and the attentive service, from the moment of making the reservation to the kind smile when leaving the restaurant. Reservation needed as the restaurant is on the smaller side — enjoy the food and the kind service! PS: The filet mignon came with herbed butter you can find it nestled under the mixed greens and french fries were served on the side as well.

Had received many recommendations for restaurants in Bruges, but being a foodie, I rely on my own research and read about Couvert and it appealed to me. Every aspect of the restaurant was beyond amazing. Very creative menu and from amuse bouche to entree, main dish, and dessert were prepared to perfection. The place is run by husband, the chef, and wife Yanka. I started a conversation with her, she is very friendly, and they just celebrated 19 years with the restaurant. The building is from 1673, has incredible charm and cozy. Was there almost 3 hours. One of the best overall dining experiences my wife, son, and i have ever had.

We came to this restaurant at the recommendation of our hotel. So thankful we took their advice. We’ve been travelling around the Netherlands and Belgium and dining at Michelin Bib or starred restaurants and Couvert’s food eclipsed them all. Absolutely flawless cooking from the appetizer to the desert. We opted for the 3 course set menu with paired wines and it was a splendid choice. Wine pairings were spot on.
