lhamourai — Hotel in La Paz

I strongly discourage anyone from booking this apartment! I must say we were not even able to see the apartment, but the owner is the rudest person I have ever met while travelling in South America and he definitely doesn't deserve to earn any money on his property. I will tell you the story...|Me and my husband informed the owner about the estimated time of our arrival. When we arrived to the parking lot in front of the apartment, he was not waiting for us, came late after 15 min and the only thing he said was "buenos tardes" and then immediately he wanted money from us, without even showing the apartment first. He wanted us to pay in USD, and when we said we would like to pay in bolivianos, he calculated the price using his own ex.rate, favorable for him. I showed him an official ex. rate on the app and kindly proposed a price in between. At that moment he got angry and super rude, shouting at us that either we accept the price or we go. We were in a deep shock already...but ok, we just said something to ourelves that he apparently does not care about opinions with such behaviour and then we just said that ok, we will pay what he wants, as we didn't feel that we have any other choice, having heavy backpacks and no car. Then he told us that he changed his mind and we cannot stay in the apartment and that we should go...we were then not only shocked, but also scared as the whole situation was in a dark parking lot room, without anyone else and we didn't know what to expect from such a psycho. We had to go to the rain and search for wifi to book another place. What's even worse, in the meantime he called booking.com and lied that we came and didn't accept the ex.rate and cancelled the reservation. That would normally mean we would need to still pay. Now imagine that this situation happens late at night...Beware of this man, he is a TERRIBLE person and probably some irresponsible psycho!!! Booking.com should not even cooperate with such...

The place itself was very appealing to me. Living room with a well equipped kitchenette, separate living room with private bath, TV and and electric heater. This alone would have made me rate it a 5, but the communications with these guys are not great at all. ||First the address on booking. com wasn't resolved with maps app, resulting to go to a street with the same name, just in the totally wrong area of La Paz, then having to take a taxi back in rush hour to get to the right address. This costed me 2 hours extra after an already exhausting bus ride. ||The check-in was not unfriendly but felt like this is the apartment give me your money and adios. ||Because my bus left late the next day, I extended my stay to the evening hours, which took about 3 hours and included 4 persons to get the extension confirmed, pay for it and get my change. ||Unfortunately I had lost a piece of my belongings somewhere between Lhamourai and my next hotel. I was not sure if I was clumsy and forgot it there or it disappeared on the way. I contacted the owner himself as his number was delivered with the confirmation mail and texted him if he could check with his staff and he said he would do so and get back to me. Even after writing him again he did not answer me back at all. ||So, baseline, rooms are worth it, staff and owner did not...

The Booking.com listing for this apartment was claiming that there is heating. We looked everywhere and we didn't find anything, nothing on the walls and no electrical heaters either.|The owner called us when we arrived and told us to communicate with him through Booking.com in case we need something. He said he would pass by the apartment that night. He never did.|He replied to our messages about the heating only 13 hours later (the next morning) without even explaining how to turn it on, just by saying "the heating is manual"..!? One of us got sick during that night due to the extremely low temperature in the apartment.|We told him we would like to checkout at 11am and he agreed. We waited until 12:30 and no-one showed up, no message, no call, nothing. So we left the money and the key on the apartment and left. The next day I received a message from the owner telling me that he was visiting the wrong apartment all this time (!!!)|The internet was working relatively OK the night but next morning it was impossible to load anything, even after sitting next...
