Let me start by saying go somewhere else. My wife and I booked a 12th floor balcony room and had many issues. Where do I start..... Toilet was not connected to floor and would move. There was constantly water on bathroom floor from who knows where. Little ant like bugs all over the room. The furniture and decorations were peeling, cracked and falling apart. Needless to say we had to switch rooms. When we did key card holder for power would work properly and air conditioner went out in that room. Thankfully it was repaired the next morning. That's not all folks... Forget trying to use the WiFi. It works for about 20 seconds then loses signal all the time and everywhere in the hotel. If you need WiFi for personal, business or just recreational use good luck.
Now for dealing with certain staff here. The wait staff in the dining was phenomenal. They were very welcoming, friendly and honestly went above and beyond. Some of the front desk staff and management is a different story. We are here to get married and they have been less then helpful. They want to argue with my wife over photography and who can come to hotel for the preparation before we leave for ceremony. We have tried to speak with manager and it's he's not here, he's at lunch, oh he'll be back in 30 minutes. He knows there is an issue yet he left without speaking to us. That's a big problem for any hotel. If anyone comes here to escort me to wedding we are charged for them to come here, even though they are not using any services just to pick me up and ride with me to event. We booked a second room for day of wedding so my wife could get ready separately and they said we can't have two people here without being charged again, even though that room is booked for two people. Then morning of the room they said they would give us to use which we paid for they rented out leaving us to us another room. Granted we got another room but why not rent the other room so we could have the one you discussed with us. Just so you know we booked this hotel for 12 days, it wasn't just an overnight or three day weekend. Obviously, we are spending a good amount of money to be here and the service is not acceptable at all.
My review could go on but I'll just leave it here. Yes, it's close to beach. Yes, it has a nice view from the balcony. BUT, I suggest going somewhere else...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel and while its location near the beach and local attractions is definitely a plus, the overall experience was far from enjoyable.
Starting with a positive, the free breakfast was surprisingly good — it offered a decent variety with both vegetarian options and a generous selection of meats. The staff responsible for the breakfast area were also notably attentive and helpful, which was a refreshing change from the rest of the service.
Unfortunately, the rest of the customer service was poor. Most of the staff seemed uninterested and unapproachable, making any form of communication difficult, especially with the noticeable lack of English speakers on site. Simple requests were either ignored or responded to with attitude.
Cleanliness was a major concern throughout the property. My room was dirty upon check-in — stained sheets, a grimy floor, and a bathroom that was not properly cleaned. The washroom sink was also broken and splashed water all over whenever used. The shower curtain appeared to have mold growing on it, making the bathroom feel unhygienic overall. The pool was extremely small and in poor condition — dirty and clearly not maintained.
Adding to the frustration, I arrived at 13:30 but wasn’t allowed to check in until 15:00, even though check-in was supposed to start at 14:00. In the room, the TV was essentially useless, as it wasn’t connected to the internet due to restrictions on the hotel Wi-Fi, which meant I couldn’t even watch YouTube or stream anything — a big letdown for relaxation. There were also random, unpleasant smells that would occasionally fill the room, ranging from sweet cake-like aromas to foul odors resembling feces, despite all doors and windows being shut.
Overall, while the location and breakfast were highlights, everything else made the stay feel more like a lesson learned than a pleasant trip. It was, at best, just...

Shops, restaurants and bars on same block on either side. ||+ rooms spacious, modern decor, modern bathroom with good shower||+ good selection at breakfast and good sized dining area||+ door staff, bellboy staff, restaurant staff, maids all gave great friendly service||+ the price I got this hotel was good but reflected in some things||+ sea/ panoramic views of Copacabana from our room were amazing (room 802)||||- the rooftop pool was small, pool was dirty and the glass partition was filthy to the point you couldn’t really see through it for what would have been a amazing view||- the reviews regarding the towels are true. They are pretty grubby looking, dirty marked with some appearing grey rather than white. This is something that let’s the hotel down quite badly.||- the reception staff aren’t the friendliest. When asked questions they didn’t seem very helpful. When I had to run out quickly and asked if my wife could check in it seemed a huge ask. When I asked the male rdceptionist/manager ANYTHING, it was returned with a grunt or shrug of the shoulders. The customer service from the front desk wasn’t even as good as average. When we checked out, I was handed a bill 1 one bottle of water, when I paid, I stood for 10 mins not knowing it was complete before the receptionist replied ‘that’s it!’. When I asked if my cases could be kept for a few hours after check out, I didn’t even get a response, he just pressed a bell on the desk for door staff to collect. When I asked if they could call a taxi for us for the airport. Another male desk worker didn’t respond, just said something in Portugese to the door staff who then arranged it. The desk could really take some tips from the other staff. If it wasn’t for them I would be rating our stay 2/5...
