This is the first time I’ve ever given a one-star review, if zero stars were possible, Amir in Rio de Janeiro would deserve it.

Our experience tonight was uniquely disappointing, combining failures across every dimension: Terrible value for money: overpriced dishes with nothing to justify the cost. Rude, dismissive staff: customer service was shockingly poor, and the owner was stuck-up and borderline dishonest. False advertising: the restaurant has imagery of Mecca on its walls, suggesting a halal establishment, but they do not serve halal food. Nickel-and-diming: they tried to charge extra just to pack up our leftovers!!!! Atmosphere: the entire vibe was cold and unwelcoming—you leave feeling scammed.

We were pretty excited to come out to this location for dinner. based on the reviews However, sadly, service was not that good and restaurant seemed very quiet with some flies buzzing around. We ordered a Tabbouleh salad, Chicken Kebab and lamb croquettes. Lamb Croquettes seemed okay when we ate it, but thinking back, not sure if it was cooked properly on the inside.. Long story short, we ended up getting sick here, food poisoning and lost 3 days of my vacation from this restaurant because as soon we got home, we started having diarrhea and vomiting. It was so bad, this lasted an entire 3 days. There was nothing else we had during the day, but dinner at night completely put a damper on our trip....
