We stayed 2 nights and it was great! To stay with the location is more that excellent! Right in from of the Copacabana beach. There are lots if restaurants near by for different budgets. Close to public transport, that will take you almost anywhere around Rio. The hotel, yes, it is old. But taking that aside, it was excellent!! The room is very spacious, the bed is a super king size, the views are awesome, right in front of the beach, which and gives you a panoramic view of the beach itself. I can't complain about the cleanliness of the bedroom and the hotel in general, because I found it very clean. In our short stay, or bedroom was cleaned very well, so we had a nice clean bed and bedroom when we got back from our sightseeing. The room comes with a large TV with cable, it does have some channels in English, but many though, but you are not paying for TV, since there are lots of things to do in Rio, lots! It also have a safe, that you don't need to pay to use. It has a mini fridge. Our room came with a big balcony. The bathroom was clean. Although just to mention that since the hotel is old, you can see that in the bathroom, so I can suggest that if needs updating, but what can you complain about for the price you paid (the cheapest hotel with a sea view) The breakfast of the hotel it was incredible. I wasn't expecting that to be honest. There was a lot of choices and very nice and tasty food too. And the main waiter was very nice also. The staff, from the moment we arrived was very very friendly and helpful. The reception guy (slim guy) was very good to us, he told us that is better to carry a copy of our passport instead of the original, so he made a copy for us and have is lots of information. There are lots of tours you can book from reception that I wish I took them. The guy that helped us with our bags, Evaldo, was super nice, took our bags to the room and explained and showed us the channels in English, and where is better food. So, in simple words, the Hotel is old yes, but you can't beat the price...
Read moreBooked the best room in this hotel as I wanted a seaview with a balcony which is what we got, seaview and balcony.||The room is as it's showed on TA, two rooms, one with a bed and a lounge and the main bedroom with a very comfortable king size bed that leads onto hte sea facing balcony. This should be perfect but as the room is need of major refurb it isn't. The bathroon is in dire need of a refurb. It looks and feels dirty, the grout has been badly patched, the tiles are cracked and stained, the front of the vanity is broken. ||The french doors leading out to the balcony and the shutters could be beautiful they just need a coat of paint and some way to close them properly. ||The view from the balcony over the beach is great, would be nice to have some furniture. ||We were in the middle room on the third floor and it was noisy, not during the day, from around 9pm until the early hours. If you're want a good night's sleep ask for a higher floor. The noise may not be a problem if the doors closed properly.||We found the staff to be brilliant, which made the difference for us and rooms were cleaned well each day. Breakfast provided good options, and a coffee machine but the room was always super crowded.||If you want a good location but aren't fussed about the quality of the room, then book it but don't think you're getting a bargain. The price reflects...
Read moreBooked here because it was the only place available on the Praia that could fit us in one room. (2adults, 3 little ones). The location is great! View is amazing! It is an old building much like others but it needs maintenance desperately. The bathroom is really old, the bath looks like it was painted over and chipped with discolouration it’s off putting. It’s very run-down. Unfortunately our main bed hadn’t had its sheets changed, it looked done until I pulled back the linen and crumbs fell out with a piece of food by then it was 2am and the lovely man on duty at reception was very apologetic and offered a change. By then I was happy to change hotels the next day. The breakfast is underwhelming but can’t go wrong with fruit. Dining area is very small and gets tight. The service and people are lovely they can only do their best with...
