First room: I find a pubic hair in the toilet bowl. Just unacceptable. It was also on the second floor so a lot of street noise and across the elevator that you would hear a lot. I obviously get a new room, but it’s now a twin and not a double. This time it’s clean but there’s another big problem: to get wifi, I have to stand next to the door. If in bed, I had 1 mbps, if anything at all. This is just unacceptable. I let it go for that night as it was late. I asked to fix the issue the next morning and they said they would restart the router. As I come back in the evening, it’s not better because the problem is likely that the router is just too far from the room. I get upgraded a new room with dedicated wifi. Finally the wifi is fast enough to work. That higher end room has the same layout but also comes with things like body lotion - how is this not included in the normal rooms? The sheets on all rooms are terrible: one sheet on each side of a duvet but not staying out at all, so you find yourself touching the duvet in the middle of the night, duvet which is certainly not washed every night. Finally, one thing in the breakfast. It’s overall good and offers a wide selection BUT it’s supposed to start at 6:30. When I came at 6:40 and left at 6:50 on the first day, there was not even half of what there was the second day (at 7:30). The workers were still installing and cooking things. Unacceptable. NO attention to Special Instructin for veg food given in advance Inspite of sending email in advance I am pure vegetarian not a single dish was planned for Vegetarian for 3 nights stay for my buffet breakfast They knew very well I am coming for Marathon so I have a lot of dependency for veg food. I checked in at 8.30 pm Hotel has nothing to offer SO I managed from what i carried from India Next Day morning it took 30 minutes to reach conclusion for serving sweet potatoes boiled Fortunatley DULCE joined after mid way and somehow i could get boiled sweet potatoesalmost after and hour and fruits thats it..I requested her to keep same dish for dinner.. At 7.30 pm again communication through google translator with Chef and it took 20 minutes to reach sweet potatoes dish but fortunately someone in kitchen knew DULCE instruction so got dish in 10 minutes. I also ordered pasta but smell of sauces were unbearable so I made them cook Rice and Dal mix which I had brought from India I was charged 57 real for the same..+pasta 65 which i could not eat + tax NExt day i could not go for breakfast as I had gone for marathon THird day agian no consideration for vegetarian though I requested dish of Potato... Summing up do not book and pay for buffet breakfast FOr my change in occupancy from doubel to SIngle for 3 day stay only 33 real was reduced /day where as for just one small favour in dinner for same item i was charged 57 real +tax almost 2x GOD bless them for irrational...

Pros - the area the hotel is in feels safe and the overall customer service was great we had a few questions before we arrived which were answered. We also had a few issues on our stay but they were quickly dealt with. We could not fault the staff as we are from the UK there was abit of a language barrier but every member of staff tried to communicate and were also patient with our limited Portuguese. The mini bar was convenient and reasonably priced. The free WIFI was excellent It was also my sons birthday whilst we were there and we came back to the room and a cake was left for him which was a lovely surprise for him.

Cons - there seems to be a bit of building work/maitenance being carried out on certain floors but we could hear the banging etc from our room most days. The restaurant (we were told it's not ran by the hotel) seems to close for private functions/ on Sundays and there were no notices to inform guests, we were caught out after being out all day and ended up having to order room service which wasn't great and we didn't eat much of it. If we would have known of the closure we would have made other arrangements prior to returning to the hotel. The pool didn't seem as if it was properly maintained (cleaned) we had to query if it was safe to swim in.

Although our apartment was spacious it felt very basic/dated in terms of decor the double bed was very squeeky and the single beds were rock hard.

Overall the hotel served the purpose...
