Rong He — Restaurant in Região Imediata de São Paulo

I first visited Rong He a few years ago and was surprised by the entire concept of the restaurant. They serve really good affordable food, the place is great for the family, but the decor and overall layout is bad.

The food is the star, absolutely delicious! Portions are all large, and a couple dishes will easily feed a table of four. I particularly LOVE the spring rolls, the fried chicken with ginger sauce and the sweet and sour pork tenderloin. I guess they're as close to tradicional Chinese cuisine as can be, based on the menu having Chinese writing on it. 😊

The menu is awfully messy, with over 150 options of dishes and a couple dozens options of beverages. It is poorly designed and the photos are unappealing. Finding what you want to eat will rely on some prior knowledge of Chinese cuisine or pure luck – which isn't so bad as Rong He food is really good, as aforementioned.

Service is good, the staff can handle a lot of pressure. Rong He is always full, there WILL be waiting even if you come early around 12 noon. It can be quite messy during the busiest hours, and oh my God so loud, but if you're patient it will...

Hoje dia de comer realmente muito além dos limites e ver que posso até comer um prato para 3, mas para 4 é quase impossível mesmo. A apresentação do prato impressiona muito pelo tamanho, uma tigela bem grande e bem cheia, o molho vem caindo pelas beiradas, e um monte de comida é realmente bem apresentado. A cor escura do molho fica bem com os frutos do mar e o macarrão fica na parte de baixo, tudo para mostrar uma certa grandiosidade desde o começo. A degustação começou pelo ótimo molho forte com bastante sabor de frutos do mar, levemente apimentado e que vem realmente numa boa quantidade, dá para saborear tudo com bastante molho durante todo o tempo. A massa é caseira, o que dá a fama ao lugar, mas não absorve muito o sabor do molho é algo para quem curte esse tipo de massa um tanto com acompanhamentos separado. Ela é muito boa na consistência e na quantidade, parece que o prato tem facilmente mais de 1 quilo de massa. Já no sabor é algo mais neutro, parece bem uma guarnição de um prato mais simples. Os frutos do mar são bem variados e bem feitos, é o que dá bastante sabor ao prato junto com o molho. Todos são macios e consistentes, com sabores que se destacam no prato, conseguem casar bem com o molho que deixa tudo bem úmido sempre, mesmo vindo em quantidade menor que a massa, consegue bem fácil dar sabor a tudo. O que não casa muito bem é a carne suína, que vem em pedaços e tem um sabor destoante, não absorvendo outros sabores, varia de um sabor mais neutro para uma carne suína mesmo, não tendo muito a ver com o resto. A casa em si é bem grande e simples, valoriza bem o espaço e consegue deixar tudo confortável mesmo cabendo um número bem grande de pessoas. Nas paredes tem muita referência oriental, assim como artigos da mídia, se o restaurante é conhecido, ele também mostra isso bem. O atendimento é bom e rápido, mesmo sendo simples e sem muita intimidade é prestativo e consegue agradar como um todo. No geral, um lugar para comer muito bem por um custo muito baixo, com muito sabor e exagero para não reclamar de praticamente nada, além do lugar bem confortável, a tesoura para cortar a massa traz curiosidades que aparentemente só aqui vai encontrar.

What a nice surprise! This is one of the best options for Chinese food in São Paulo. We went there on a Sunday afternoon, at around 2pm. There was a small queue, but we would be sitting in less than 10 minutes. Although the place was packed, the staff did not take forever to take our order. The food was exquisite. We had different dishes and they were all excellent. The fried chicken was outstanding, truly flavourful and light. Although I am not that into sweets, the desserts we had were phenomenal. The food did not get as fast to the table as we would have liked, but it was not a huge issue. The price is fair, this is neither expensive nor cheap.
