Generaator Sofia — Hotel in Sofia City

There were so many problems with this room.

First of all, the bed sheet was not clean, there were some stains.

There were spiders in the room

The window blind was on the floor.

During the stay, there were no people at the desk, so we couldn't even complain.

During checkout, there was a woman, who barely spoke English, so she didn't answer our questions.

Photos of the room are done for another room. For example, there was no window at all in our bedroom, even though there is a window in the bedroom on the photos.

There is an unfair price for a late (after 00:00) check-in. I mean, we paid for the whole night, but then were asked to pay 20BGN (~10 euro) on top of it. There was nobody to help us checking during the night, it was a key box, so I don't understand why there is such a fee.

I think some reviewers here have too high of an expectation for this property, especially given its already great location. The quality of rooms and services offered are commensurate with the nightly rates, and the staff does try to help you when there is a concern. They might not have ongoing reception in the lobby, but the What’s App contact person does respond in a timely manner. Plus, there is a nice lawn and garden area for you to have a coffee or other beverage and maybe meet other guests and get some fresh air. Cute little cats are sometimes there:-)

In the local area, there are at least two good grocery stores nearby, along with a cosmetic shop and a few eateries. It is near the train station and several trolleys to go farther into town. The front desk was nice. Bathroom was not ideal because shower made the toilet wet and it became slippery. Also a bit out dated.

Thought it was nice for Bulgaria until I spent 3 nights at a hotel closer to city center for a cheaper price and a cleaner/more modern room.

got to check in a little early which was nice. Works but would not stay again. Close to everything with a 20 minute walk to the main shopping street, and public transit stop right outside.

Just felt a little dirty and outdated. i’m sure they cleaned it, but wooden floors and everything and there were bugs since they left windows open. staff was very friendly though, but not 24 hour staff on duty.
