Quite unfriendly and unprofessional stuff!
Like in many places in Bulgaria, the personnel keeps forgetting why are they there and whoâs more important (always the client). Weather is question of motivation due to remuneration, or simply wrong judgement of talent, willingness to work, or a general interest in the profession âBaristaâ - the result always leads to a negative experience for anyone involved. What happened: On a Monday morning at 7:20 I went to grab a coffee before work and apart from having to listen to the negative shaped / complaining focused conversation of the two workers there while waiting for my coffee, I also saw a note that thereâs a garden. Since Iâm a smoker I asked to be navigated towards as per the announcement left on the counter. I received a frustrated reaction that the garden isnât open nor prepared yet, and I almost felt guilty for asking. The girl went to prepare the garden obviously frustrated and surprised that she has to do it. Also, I was pointed towards a pile of ashtrays on the corner to pick up mine. I wonder how owners invest so much funds to take care of little details and decorations but forget to take care of the main - the selection of the right people who will be representing the ownerâs idea and vibe, and will not only simply follow protocol of how to make expresso or cappuccino, but also would be upgrading the whole experience with time, develop and evolve, upscale and up-sale, and all the good things related to doing your job in a professional and positive manner. Definitely gonna make a different choice for a barista place next time, anyway, the neighborhood is very competitive and there an are plenty of places in Kvartal for good coffee. Hereâs the time to point out that the coffee wasnât even very good.. No need to reply to me with a defensive or justifying comment as I read through your other replies. Good luck in scaling up your service and your business not only according to European prices but also to European...

Read moreI had a very tasty flat white and an amazing butter croissant. The interior is also nice. I went there for the first time on a Friday morning and to be honest it felt like I was walking into a co-working space, not a coffee shop - it was quiet and everyone was on their laptops. It felt awkward to speak because I felt like Iâd be disturbing people who were working (which is obviously a weird thing to think since itâs not an office). I wanted to sit but all tables were occupied even the tables for 4 had one person with a laptop occupying them. Also, the staff looked like they didnât want to be there, just took my order, no thanks, no smiles, no nothing which added to the strange atmosphere - maybe they were tired idk. Anyway, my suggestion would be to put stickers on some tables which prohibit the use of laptops and only allow it on a few or just the table in the middle. Iâve seen this policy implemented in my local coffee shop (not in Sofia) and everyoneâs happy. This way itâs fair to both groups of customers - those who want to do some work and those who go there with friends to socialise whilst enjoying a...
