My stay at the hotel was definitely enjoyable, but I couldn't help feeling that there was room for improvement, hence my 4-star rating. We had a lot of special occasions to celebrate, so we decided to treat ourselves to a staycation. In preparation, I reached out to the hotel before booking to inquire about their spa services and casino. When I spoke to the spa attendant, her friendly tone put me at ease as she reassured me that booking for the spa wasn't necessary. However, when I mentioned the Family Spa package, which includes massages for two adults and pool/spa access for the kids, I was disappointed to hear that the kids' access was limited to just a few hours. The same went for the 5 elements experience, which we were really excited for. It turned out that we needed to book in advance for the massages and hammam. We only had one night to enjoy everything and the masseuse was not available on the days that we stayed. The spa was also packed.
Despite this setback, we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel's restaurants, which were top-notch, and the staff were excellent. However, we were a little let down by the Ozone Sky Bar as the service wasn't as accommodating or pleasant as what we experienced at the restaurants. As for the casino, I made sure to call ahead to confirm that they accept both passports and residence IDs. The male receptionist informed me over the phone that we can use either passport or residence ID. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case, and as a resident with only a permanent residency card, I was unable to register for the casino. My passport was required for initial registration. I've already been to other casinos here in Bulgaria and I was only asked for my ID. It was a shame because we were looking forward to a fun night out.
However, the hotel did go above and beyond for our children's birthday celebration. I had emailed to inquire about any facilities for kids, but instead, they surprised us with something unexpected in our kids' room. It was a thoughtful gesture that made our stay even more special.
We're looking forward to staying...
Read moreMillennium Hotel is a good combination of location and acceptable quality of service. On the one hand, the advantage of the hotel base is that it is still new. It is kept clean. The environment is usually calm. In the rooms/apartments, the equipment lacks toothbrushes and toothpaste (for single use), as well as there is no notebook or sheets of paper on which one can write if necessary. That aside, the high elevations give a nice view over the city. It is nice when you are facing east because it gives advantage to see the beautiful sunrise over the city. The west-facing rooms are more of a compromise because you can see part of the neighboring Millennium Center tower. On the other hand, there is something to be desired from the service staff. Some employees behave at a lower level than expected for a 5 star hotel. Specifically, those responsible for the parking lot on Vitosha Boulevard. They have a strange "face control" and an expression typical of the time of the 90s, when in Sofia it was popular to walk around with a bat in hand... ( this could be a joke in case it is true ) I recommend visiting the hotel's restaurants and trying the menu. Ozone Bar is also a great place especially after sunset and you can enjoy delicious cocktails and drinks. The hotel has a luxurious fitness and spa center, as well as a swimming pool. Next door, Millennium also has a Casino - a place where, in the right mood, you can also have fun, as long as you know how to lose, of course. And opposite when you win, everyone smiles and politely and kindly motivates you to continue your game. Let's hope that luck doesn't let you down and "from being a toy, it becomes a crybaby". In summary, the management policy seems to be paying off and the hotel is developing in a direction desired by the market in capital Sofia. I recommend you visit it and enjoy...
Read moreWife's review * Definitely not a 5-star experience. I stayed for a 4-day business trip. The staff at Reception is extremely unpleasant. The check-in staff was cordial however the check-out staff was just awful, not pleasant, did not care about customer satisfaction, did not want to be helpful at all.
Not a 5-star experience due to the lack of attention to detail and poor customer experience.
Rooms: Housekeeping is questionable, very few amenities/towels, fridge is left empty. I asked to fill the fridge as I wanted to have water just in case. I was charged for it although the fridge was left full, I never used the water in the end. I had to ask them to remove it from my final invoice, they still did not believe me and had triple checked with housekeeping to go check my room.... I had left my card as security, you could have at least the courtesy to do it when I have left instead of asking for confirmation in front of me. Although I don't speak Bulgarian, it was very easy to understand "Perrier" and that you were asking them to check on it.
My bed was left half made. There was still hair on the floor of the bathroom, so clearly it had not been vacuumed. There is very few soap , very few towels. If you plan to shower more than once or wash your hair, you will run out.
Hair drier is great at least.
Food: Breakfast is great. Room service is average. They did not even bring bread with the food which is usually standard in 5star hotels.
There is no indication of menu, prices, or services in the room. You have to look for everything on the TV.
The gym is great.
TV: I was shocked to see that guests had to pay for regular movies! Only regular television is free.
View: no view
Overall: overall the hotel is cold and very corporate. This is a 3-star review mainly due to the staff lack...
